Explanatory text teaching is an important part of middle school language reading teaching.Together with the teaching contents of other text categories,it shares the important task of cultivating students’ core literacy.This paper explores the basic strategies for teaching middle school language expository texts with core literacy as the guide,and explores effective ways to break the dilemma of teaching expository texts nowadays.This paper takes the current unified version of junior high school language textbooks as the basis,and takes the implementation of the core literacy proposed in the new curriculum as the goal guide.On the basis of this,practical teaching strategies are proposed to optimize the teaching of expository texts in junior high school and to improve students’ overall ability.In addition to the introduction,this paper can be divided into five parts.The first part mainly includes three aspects: the concept of core literacy and its connotation,an overview of middle school language expository essays and the guiding significance of core literacy to middle school expository essay teaching,focusing on clarifying the concept,discussing the advantages of implementing core literacy in expository essay teaching and laying the theoretical foundation.The second part focuses on statistical analysis of middle school language textbooks’ expository works from two aspects,namely,the current situation of selection and arrangement analysis.The third part uses a questionnaire to explore the problems and analyze the teaching of middle school language expository texts under the core literacy from two dimensions:teachers and students.The fourth part is the focus of the thesis,and based on the analysis in the third part,the corresponding basic strategies are proposed for the teaching of middle school language expository texts mainly in four dimensions:culture,language,thinking and aesthetics.The fifth part is a case design of teaching,in which the author selects two expository texts for teaching design and presents teaching reflections at the end.
