Practical texts are closely related to the social life of human beings,and they play an increasingly important role in modern society.The Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition),published in April 2022,sets out a separate developmental learning task group for the practical genre-the "Practical Reading and Communication" task group.In terms of the main content of learning,it is closely linked to the content of previous practical texts,but with enhanced guidance on the content and delivery of the curriculum.Practical reading plays a key role in language teaching,but the current situation is not promising in practical reading.The thesis is divided into four parts.Firstly,it takes practical text as the object of study and explains the concept and teaching value of practical text.Secondly,through questionnaire surveys and teacher interviews,the current problems of teachers and students in teaching practical texts in junior high school are analysed and summarised.Again,based on the above problems,this study proposes strategies for the implementation of practical text reading teaching in junior high school language in the context of learning task clusters,mainly from the following aspects: firstly,the design strategy of practical text reading teaching in junior high school based on the learning situation.This study proposes strategies for the implementation of practical reading in the context of learning task clusters.Secondly,the implementation strategy of practical reading teaching in junior high school is based on the learning situation.Create reallife situations to stimulate students’ interest in learning;construct problem situations to promote competence;create activity situations to mobilise students’ participation;and strengthen the guidance on cross-media reading and communication.With a proper understanding of the relationship between online literacy and core language literacy,we focus on learning objectives,integrate curriculum resources,create learning contexts,design practical task chains and adopt scaffolding teaching strategies to enhance students’ problem-solving skills.Thirdly,assessment strategies for teaching practical reading in junior high school based on learning situations.Using students’ reading literacy and writing literacy as the basis for assessment,we enrich the ways of assessing practical reading in junior high school.Emphasis is placed on performancebased assessment,more process-based assessment and flexible use of assessment tools.Give full play to the advantages of process assessment and focus on the visualisation and openness of the assessment process.Teachers should pay attention not only to students’ learning outcomes but also to their performance in the learning process.Finally,the author launched a teaching practice on speech and news reading based on the teaching strategies proposed above.
