Left-behind children are the focus of social problems caused by economic development and population mobility.Left-behind experience refers to the experience of young people under the age of 18 studying in middle school or earlier, when both parents go out for work or one parent goes out for work, and grandparents or relatives take care of them,or no one takes care of them for more than three months. At present, the youth group with left-behind experience is the focus of academic attention, which is of great significance for improving the social status of left-behind groups in China.Researchers generally agree that the stay-at-home experience can have a significant impact on adolescents’ individual development and mental health.Secondary vocational students with left-behind experience are a special group of teenagers. They are in adolescence, and they are faced with many life puzzles about self-worth and employment,so we need to pay more attention to their growth and mental health education. This study takes secondary vocational students as the research object and students from a secondary vocational school in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province as the research sample to conduct stratified sampling.Through questionnaire survey, this study explores the influence of left-behind experience on the mental health of secondary vocational students, and introduces social skills and interpersonal relationship as the mediating variables to further explore the influence mechanism of left-behind experience on mental health. The influence of remaining in the initial stage on the above variables is discussed. At the same time to explore the implementation of appropriate and effective group psychological counseling programs to improve the interpersonal relationship of secondary vocational students with left-behind experience,so as to intervene their mental health. In Study 1,the Texas Social Behavior Questionnaire(TSBI),the General Health Questionnaire(GHQ-12)and the self-designed basic situation questionnaire were used to investigate the influence of left-behind experience on the mental health of secondary vocational students in Nanchang and the role of social skills. In Study 2,interpersonal relationship variable was added on the basis of Study 1,and 394 secondary vocational students were selected to take the test using the revised Shen Wudan Interpersonal Relationship Scale to analyze and study the influence mechanism of the above variables. The results of Study 1 and Study 2 together show that:(1)Left-behind experience has a significant negative impact on the mental health level of secondary vocational students. The mental health level of secondary vocational students with left-behind experience is significantly lower than that of those without left-behind experience.(2)Social skills are negatively correlated with left-behind experience, but positively correlated with the mental health of secondary vocational students.Social skills partially mediate the relationship between left-behind experience and the mental health of secondary vocational students.(3)Interpersonal relationship is negatively correlated with left-behind experience, and positively correlated with the mental health of secondary vocational students.Interpersonal relationship plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between left-behind experience and mental health.(4)Social skills are positively correlated with interpersonal relationship, and they play a chain mediating role in the relationship between left-behind experience and mental health. In Study 3,a group psychological counseling program was developed for the improvement of interpersonal relationship and mental health of secondary vocational students.Based on the principle of voluntalism, secondary vocational students with low interpersonal relationship level and mental health level who had stayed behind experience were selected from Study 2 and randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The pre-test and post-test experimental design was adopted for the experimental group and control group. The experimental group received group counseling once a week for a total of eight times, while the control group did not take any intervention measures. The final experimental results show that the group psychological counseling intervention can significantly improve the interpersonal relationship of secondary vocational students with left-behind experience, improve their mental health level, and verify the effectiveness of the group psychological counseling program.
