The selection of architectural culture content in the compiled version of junior high school history textbooks aligns with the requirements of the curriculum standards.This article analyzes the new curriculum standards and the junior high school history textbooks to explore the implicit knowledge of architectural culture within the textbooks,aiming to enhance the understanding of the compiled version of the junior high school history textbooks.Architectural culture education helps to stimulate students’ desire to continue exploring historical knowledge,keeps their interest in learning history alive,allows students to appreciate the charm of excellent architectural culture,and fosters their sense of identity with traditional Chinese architectural culture,nurturing their patriotism.A questionnaire survey was conducted on the content of architectural culture in junior high school history teaching,targeting students and frontline history teachers.Using a questionnaire survey approach,the perspectives of both students and teachers on the practical application of architectural culture in the classroom were analyzed.Subsequently,the survey results were used to summarize and analyze the existing problems and causes in the teaching of architectural culture in junior high school,and practical teaching principles and strategies were proposed.Firstly,junior high school architectural culture teaching should adhere to the principles of student-centeredness,regionalism,effectiveness,and comprehensiveness.Secondly,various approaches can be adopted in junior high school architectural culture teaching,such as project-based learning,interdisciplinary thematic teaching,situational teaching,and special topic research,in order to better address the practical issues in architectural culture teaching.Additionally,the teaching of architectural culture should be implemented in specific teaching activities.Furthermore,teachers should design historical research assignments on architectural culture,organize extracurricular activities related to architectural culture,create a campus culture atmosphere centered around architecture,thus strengthening the connection between architectural culture and other content,constructing a complete knowledge system,and enriching the forms of architectural culture teaching.Finally,taking the sub-objectives of “The Burning of the Old Summer Palace and the Signing of the Beijing Treaty” in “The Second Opium War” and “Architectural Art” in “Greek and Roman Classical Culture” as examples,the practical teaching of architectural culture in the junior high school history curriculum is designed.By adjusting the teaching methods of architectural culture through various approaches,the outcomes of architectural culture teaching can be improved,creating a high-quality teaching environment,aligning architectural culture teaching with the standards of the new curriculum reform,and promoting the progress of junior high school history teaching.
