The ocean is an important hub of international connectivity and a treasure house of resources to be developed.It is also a spiritual resource with rich historical,cultural and aesthetic significance.Under the background of maritime power,China’s modernization needs to pay attention to the modernization of the ocean and guarantee the sustainable development of Marine ecology.Such a process requires not only professional education to cultivate talents with Marine expertise and capabilities,but also Marine education to cultivate public’s Ocean literacy.Hainan province is a coastal province with a large sea area.To study the current situation of Ocean literacy of junior high school students in Hainan Province is the practical need of a powerful country,the educational support of the construction of free trade port,the necessity of implementing the relevant education policy,and also driven by personal research interests.Theoretically,it is conducive to providing regional research cases for Ocean literacy and enriching Marine education research results.In practice,it can promote Marine education in junior high schools in Hainan Province,contribute to the construction of Hainan free trade port,and provide reference for the cultivation of Ocean literacy among young people in other provinces and regions.Finally,it will add endogenous impetus to the implementation of the strategy of becoming a maritime power.Based on the theoretical construction of Ocean literacy,the questionnaire and interview outline were compiled and revised by referring to the official textbooks and existing questionnaires.By cluster sampling method,787 junior high school students were selected as research objects,from eight schools in seven cities in five regions of Hainan Province.IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 is used to analyze the results.Then based on the present situation,it is found that there are four problems in Ocean literacy of junior high school students in Hainan Province: the Marine cognitive development is not comprehensive;The emotional experience of the sea is not rich;There are barriers to faith building in the sea;Marine behavior habits have not been developed.The above problems are analyzed and summarized into the following reasons: the restriction of exam-oriented teaching;Insufficient construction of curriculum and teaching materials;Lack of basic point of Marine emotion development;Teachers lack of Marine emotional literacy;The influence of the spirit of The Times;The development of modernity;Teacher guidance is biased;Lack of relevant home-school cooperation;Lack of social resources to support;Insufficient early emotional acquisition.Then,the author puts forward some suggestions for Marine education: attach importance to Marine education and strengthen related top-level design;Improve the teacher training mechanism,build a professional teacher team;Make good use of local resources to enrich the content of Marine education;Give play to the advantages of technology and innovate the methods of Marine education;Build an integrated network system to broaden the channel of Marine education. |
