| Academic procrastination is a common problem, which not only affects students’ study, but also brings pressure, anxiety, insomnia and other conditions. Therefore,it is of practical significance to explore the factors affecting academic procrastination.Based on Ecosystem Theory,Short-term Repair Theory,Social Learning Theory, and Time Substitution Hypothesis, this study explored the immediate and temporal effects of parental phubbing behavior on academic procrastination, the mediating role of anger and smartphone addiction, and the dynamic development trend of academic procrastination behavior. This study consists of three studies. In the first study,820 students from grade 3 to Grade 6 were selected as the research objects. The questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the influence of parental phubbing on academic procrastination. The results showed that:(1)parental phubbing, state anger, smartphone addiction and academic procrastination were positively correlated.(2)Parental phubbing positively predicted academic procrastination, and the mediating and chain mediating effects of state anger and smartphone addiction were significant. In the second study,a longitudinal study was conducted on 348 students from grade 4to 6 in Henan Province.A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the longitudinal influence of parental phubbing on academic procrastination,as well as the longitudinal mediating effect of trait anger and smartphone addiction. The results showed that:(1)there was stability among the variables, and the variables measured for the three times were significantly correlated, but from the longitudinal perspective, there was no significant correlation between T1 parent phubbing and T2 trait anger, while the other variables were significantly positively correlated.(2)T1 parent phubbing significantly predicted T3 academic procrastination behavior, and the longitudinal mediating effect of T2 smartphone addiction was significant. The longitudinal mediating effect of T2 trait anger was not significant, nor was the longitudinal chain mediating effect. In study 3,a latent growth model was used to explore the developmental trajectory of academic procrastination, and the effects of time-invariant variables(gender)and timevarying variables(parental phubbing, trait anger, and smartphone addiction)on the developmental trajectory of academic procrastination. The results showed that:(1)there were significant individual differences in the initiation level of academic procrastination, but no significant individual differences in the development rate, and there was no significant correlation between the initiation level and the development rate.(2)The initial level of academic procrastination of male students was significantly higher than that of female students, but there was no significant difference in the growth rate of schoolwork procrastination between different genders.(3)Father’s phubbing, mother’s phubbing, trait anger and smartphone addiction positively predicted academic procrastination behavior at the same time.In conclusion, this study explores the influencing factors of academic procrastination in a combination of horizontal and vertical ways, and examines the influences of parental factors, personal traits and personal behaviors,so as to give new advice for decreasing academic procrastination. |
