Against the strategic demands of the high-quality development of the sports tourism industry and the high-quality construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, the integrated development of sports tourism industry has become a hot research topic both domestically and internationally. At the same time, the development of sports tourism industry in Hainan province and the economic development in Li ethnic areas are increasingly lagging behind, which highlights the urgent need to carry out research on the integrated development of sports tourism industry in Li ethnic areas of Hainan province. This will help to develop sports tourism industry into a distinctive and highly competitive advantage industry with the characteristics of a free trade port, and it is of great practical significance for promoting the high-quality construction of the free trade port. This research is guided by the problem-oriented approach, with "discovering problems, analyzing problems, and solving problems" as the main research line. The research includes three parts: discovering problems, analyzing problems, and solving problems. In the first part, the problem is discovered through systematic analysis of domestic and foreign literature using documentary and logical analysis methods, based on an interpretation of current policy orientation and research hotspots, and grasping the strategic demands of the country. It is found that the development of sports tourism industry in Li ethnic areas of Hainan province is lagging behind, with insufficient industry supply and backward economic development. In the second part, the problems of the integrated development of sports tourism industry in Li ethnic areas of Hainan province are analyzed using documentary and field research methods. It is found that the main reasons for these problems are the inaccurate positioning of the integrated development of sports tourism industry, mutual isolation of resources, weak infrastructure construction, single content, insufficient characteristic folk products, and lack of professional talents. In the third part, guided by the theories of industry integration, industry cluster, and sustainable tourism development, and based on the background of the construction of the free trade port, the concept and development path of the integrated development of sports tourism industry are proposed for Li ethnic areas of Hainan province.Case studies are conducted on the integrated development of sports tourism industry in Li ethnic areas of Wuzhishan City. The natural, cultural, and historical resources of Li ethnic areas in Wuzhishan City are explored in-depth,and the concept of ecological sports, boutique tourism,urban-rural integration, and open cooperation is adopted. The path of resource integration, product integration, market integration, industry format integration, and talent integration is taken. The spatial layout is "one heart, one mountain, one line, one circle".The traditional sports of Li ethnic group are taken as the core, and three integrated sports tourism service stations are developed using case design method: Tongshi Li ethnic characteristic folk sports town as the first-level station,Hongxia Gorge outdoor sports and health center as the second-level station, and Maona characteristic folk sports tourism village as the third-level station, forming an integrated sports tourism service complex of three levels.Furthermore,a greenway sports event-driven case study is developed, the Ato Ridge-Yahu Terraced Field Greenway Sports Event,as well as a sports research-driven case study, the Chubao Youth Outdoor Specialty Research Base and three sports research routes,"Looking for Hometown and Exploring Li," "Strolling in the Forest," and "Reviewing History," in order to provide theoretical support and practical paradigms for the integrated development of sports tourism industry in other ethnic areas.
