Reading is a fundamental mean of national spiritual development and cultural inheritance,and an important source of cohesion and creativity for a nation.As a dynamically constructed re-creation process,reading has an irreplaceable role in students? language construction and use,thinking development,aesthetic appreciation and cultural transmission.Reading strategies,as a learning strategy,theyare a guarantee to stimulate students’ desire to learn.Reading strategy teaching can better improve students’ reading leveland is crucial to the formation of reading literacy.For the first time,the primary language textbooks include reading strategies in the textbook system,with a unit on “Reading Strategies” in the language textbooks for Primary grade 3 to 6.The core content of the Reading Strategies unit is to enable students to learn reading strategies and to use them in their daily reading.Students?learning of reading strategies in the classroom is dependent on the class design of the frontline teacher,good teaching design is the basis for successful learning of this part.Since the introduction of the unified primary language textbooks,language education scholars and frontline teachers have been exploring how to design the teaching of?reading strategies?,how to make students? learning of this part more effective,and how to develop students? reading skills in a realistic way.Based on this,this study refers to the requirements of the curriculum standards,translates the curriculum objectives of “reading strategies” into content,attempts to assign teaching values to different texts,and explores the use of teaching design to guide students through the process of “learning and application”.This study first analyses the connotation of“reading strategies” in the unified primary language textbooks,then further explains the arrangement system,the concept of arrangement and the specific content of the“reading strategies” units in the unified primary language textbooks,andthen investigates how frontline teachers are currently working on the design of “reading strategies”.Finally,the solution is given to show the analysis results of teaching design,aiming at providing ideas for grassroots teachers to carry out the teaching design of "reading strategies".This study is divided into five parts.The first part is an introduction,which defines the core concept of “reading strategies” in the unified primary language textbooks,explains its connotation,the background,the current situation of the study,as well as the objectives,contents and ideas of the study.The second part of the study explains the reading strategies in the unified primary language textbooks,explaining the concept and the system of its arrangement,and outlining the specific teaching contents of the reading strategies.In the third part,a survey is conducted to understand the problems that teachers encounter in designing reading strategies and to analyse the causes of these problems.The fourth section proposes four strategies for designing reading strategies.The final section presents examples of reading strategy design using the “Four Strategies”.
