The topic of war is always heavy and sorrowful,but the memory of war should never be forgotten or tampered with at will.War-related works are the historical imprint of war memory and the product of the times.Some war texts can help students understand the historical memory of war and cultivate a rational perspective on war and reflect on it.At the same time,the Chinese language textbooks have been selected after repeated polishing and deliberation by the editors,and are of researchable value.The unified version of primary and secondary school language textbooks includes some war-related texts,and studying and researching war-related works plays a pivotal role in cultivating students’ ability to think rationally and improving their overall language literacy.This paper takes the unified edition of primary and secondary school language textbooks as the scope of study,and analyzes the war topics in a quantitative way by means of tables and statistics,and tries to propose effective teaching strategies for war topics with specific cases,in an attempt to inject new vitality into the teaching classroom of war selections.This paper has five parts.The introductory part of the paper mainly explains the origin of the thesis from three aspects: the memory of war carried by war-themed works,the current situation of using the unified version of primary and secondary school language textbooks,and the practical problems encountered in teaching war-themed texts.This section discusses the significance of the research on both theoretical and practical levels,and compares the current status of domestic and foreign theoretical and practical research on war-related works,in order to lay a solid theoretical foundation for this paper.The first chapter first clarifies the concepts of the unified version of primary and secondary school language textbooks and war-themed works,followed by an in-depth analysis of the unique pedagogical value of war-themed works in unified language textbooks from the perspectives of linguistic thinking,literary meaning and contemporary value.Combining the new standards of language compulsory education and high school level,the selection characteristics of the unified version of textbooks and the requirements of the times,Chapter 2 firstly discusses in detail the basis for the selection of war-themed works;then this chapter analyzes the selection of war-themed works in the unified version of primary and secondary school language textbooks in terms of overall distribution,quantity distribution,genre distribution,and temporal layout respectively,and also explores the changing trends of the selection of war-themed works in different sections;at the same time,the theme of war-themed works in textbooks is explored.The third chapter proposes possible strategies for teaching war-themed works based on the concepts of language standards and specific case studies,mainly from four levels: teaching resources,teaching methods,teaching formats,and teacher quality.The concluding section is a brief summary of the paper and a reflection on the shortcomings of the study.
