Curriculum ideological and political education is the fundamental requirement for "running socialist universities with Chinese characteristics,adhering to the principle of cultivating moral character and educating people,and integrating the cultivation and practice of socialist core values into the entire process of teaching and educating." During the National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities held in December 2016,General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed the need to integrate ideological and political work into the entire education and teaching process in Chinese universities.He further emphasized the importance of creating a new stage of development for China’s higher education,wherein every subject must fulfill its responsibilities and work in coordination with ideological and political theory courses to achieve a synergistic effect.The call for a stronger emphasis on ideological and political education in Chinese universities was aimed at producing students with socialist ideals,beliefs,and moral values.To this end,China has implemented various measures,such as the establishment of new courses and programs for ideological and political education,and the recruitment of faculty members with strong ideological and political views.Subsequently,the concept of curriculum ideological and political education was proposed and recognized,which sparked a wave of reform in curriculum ideological and political education.University teachers’ logical actions in ideological and political teaching involve developing effective strategies for the course’s ideological and political teaching.These strategies should have clear objectives and must align with the context of the course ideological and political teaching reform.The ultimate goal is to ensure that students receive comprehensive ideological and political education in universities.To achieve this,university teachers must constantly review and adjust their course content,teaching methods,and learning outcomes to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters the development of students’ socialist ideals,beliefs,and moral values.Based on social exchange theory and Marx’s demand theory,the study used interview and grounded theory methods to successfully interview 16 university teachers,including outstanding representatives of course ideological and political teaching and teacher management personnel.A total of 13 interview outlines were used,and the teacher interview materials were analyzed and organized using Nvivo12 software,ensuring that no new conceptual categories or theoretical implications were generated.Relevant concepts,categories,and core categories were formed to establish the theoretical model of the logical action of course ideological and political teaching by university teachers.During the exchange process with universities,the development context followed by the logical action of course ideological and political teaching by university teachers is as follows: "constraint conditions-reward feedback-balance process-regulatory factors-action selection".It can be roughly divided into two stages: "action strategy estimation" and "action strategy adjustment and implementation." Currently,there are problems in the course ideological and political teaching reform for university teachers,such as deviation from the assessment of the course ideological and political teaching command,excessive pursuit of "academic GDP," insufficient incentives,poor teacher identity and humanistic cultivation,and serious formalism.Therefore,the following countermeasures are proposed: Firstly,university teachers should stick to their professional ethics,abandon the utilitarianism in teaching,autonomously improve the threshold of the classroom "home field," establish a correct understanding of course ideological and political teaching,and use it to assist research and development.Secondly,the management of course ideological and political teaching in universities should be based on the needs of teachers,stimulate the growth of university teachers,and enhance their sense of obligation towards course ideological and political teaching.Thirdly,universities should replace rigid systems with flexible cultivation and create a teaching atmosphere that promotes moral education and cultivating talents.By studying and understanding the action logic behind course ideological and political teaching by university teachers,this research provides empirical research results for subsequent course ideological and political teaching reforms. |
