Primary school reading teaching is the main way for students to acquire knowledge,master information and learn reading methods.Through reading teaching,not only can they improve their language learning ability,but also can effectively accumulate reading materials and improve their literacy.Healthy and positive emotions play a positive role in initiating and promoting cognitive activities,while situational teaching methods aim to elicit positive and healthy emotional experiences among students in reading teaching,it also can directly improve their enthusiasm for reading learning and make reading enjoyable for students.The“Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)”clearly states that situational teaching should be emphasized in the selection and organization of curriculum content,the implementation of classroom teaching,and the implementation of teaching evaluation.Therefore,it is necessary that situational teaching method be applied in Chinese reading teaching.The relevant research about situational teaching method is summarized in literature review as well as the concepts of situational teaching method and primary school Chinese reading teaching.Based on the concepts,data about 64 senior Chinese teachers and 270 fifth and sixth grade students in two primary schools in Ordos City was collected by questionnaire,the data was analyzed to better understand the current situation of situational teaching method for the Chinese reading teaching of upper level in primary school in order to find out the existed problems and the causes,meanwhile to give possible solution.Through the investigation and analysis of the current situation of Chinese reading teaching in primary schools,the main problems are as solutions: teachers lack in-depth understanding of situational teaching methods;the way in which teachers use situational teaching method in reading teaching in primary school all fall in the same pattern;the creation of situational teaching method in reading teaching of upper level in primary school is far away from students’ real lives;teachers neglect their emotional input and students are not engaged in the class activity;situational teaching resources are not enough.The main reasons are:teachers lack systematic learning of situational teaching methods;inadequate innovation in teachers’ use of situational teaching methods in reading teaching of upper level in primary school;teachers do not have a deep understanding of the reading content of upper level in primary school;teachers lack a deep understanding of students’ actual lives;the development of situational teaching resources is insufficient.Therefore,this research proposed suggestions for the existing problems and reasons of situational teaching method in the reading teaching of primary school Chinese at the senior stage: strengthen the theoretical study of situational teaching method for the teachers,so that the advantages of situational teaching method can be shown;updating teaching concepts and innovating the use of situational teaching methods;take students as the center,connect with students’ actual life experiences,and deeply analyze the reading content;develop situational teaching resources. |
