| Fiction is one of the focuses of middle school language reading teaching and has traditionally received much attention from teachers and students.Fiction reflects social life in a virtual way.Middle school students like to read novels but are unable to deeply understand the ideological connotations expressed in novels.The traditional novel reading teaching is too patterned and routine,which cannot effectively stimulate students’ learning enthusiasm,and the teaching effect of novel reading is not satisfactory,and it is also difficult to achieve the goal of education carried by novels.Contextual teaching method is different from the traditional teaching mode,it creates typical scenes to stimulate students’ enthusiasm and effectively combines students’ positive emotional and cognitive activities,and it always takes students as the main body,so the application of contextual teaching method in novel reading teaching has certain feasibility and application value.Based on the unified version of junior high school language textbooks,this thesis starts from the concepts of contextual teaching method and novel reading teaching.By sorting out the arrangement and characteristics of novels in junior high school language textbooks,it clarifies the important task of education carried by novels in junior high school language textbooks,and then investigates the current situation of the use of contextual teaching method in junior high school novel reading teaching.Then,the current situation of the use of contextual teaching method in junior high school novel reading teaching is investigated.This dissertation is divided into six chapters.The first chapter,which focuses on the elucidation of some important concepts and the theoretical basis of contextual pedagogy involved in this dissertation,mainly includes the explanation of the concepts of novel,novel reading instruction,and contextual pedagogy,as well as the discussion of the characteristics of novel,the characteristics of contextual pedagogy and its theoretical basis.Chapter 2,mainly discusses the feasibility and value of the contextual teaching method applied to the teaching of novel reading in junior high school.The application of contextual teaching method to junior high school novel reading teaching fits the requirements of the educational reform in the Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)and meets the characteristics of junior high school students’ learning conditions.The flexible use of contextual teaching method can stimulate students’ interest in learning,promote their emotional experience,enhance their understanding of the text,improve teachers’ classroom teaching effectiveness,and contribute to the formation of students’ core literacy.Chapter 3,based on the unified version of the middle school language textbook,provides a detailed overview and summary of the organization and characteristics of the novels in the textbook.The overall arrangement of novels focuses on the gradual progression of content and the unity of instrumentality and humanism;in the selection of specific novels,the editor focuses on the unity of classicality and diversity,the combination of tradition and modernity,the richness of topics and the concentration of themes.On the other hand,it is clear that the status of the novel in the textbook and the important role it carries in educating people.Chapter 4,focuses on the research of the current situation of using contextual teaching method in middle school language novel reading teaching.This thesis starts the research from two aspects: students and teachers,distributing questionnaires to students and conducting face-to-face interviews with teachers.Through the collation and summarization of the research results,the problems of using contextual teaching method in middle school language novel reading teaching are summarized,mainly manifested as the single form of contextual teaching,the creation of the context in a formal way,and the creation of the context out of the learning situation.The problems found in the research provide an important reference for the efficient use of contextual teaching method in middle school language novel reading teaching.Chapter 5,in response to the problems found in the research,the author combines her experience of practical teaching of novel reading in Railway Senior High School in Xinxiang City,Henan Province,and proposes diversified strategies for creating contexts,such as using multimedia technology to create audiovisual contexts,combining with life reality to create life contexts,and introducing role plays to create performance contexts,constantly inspire and guide,create exploration situations,etc.Chapter 6,a complete application of the contextual teaching method to the junior high school language novel reading "Liu Lou Lou Enters the Grand View Garden" is shown as well as teaching reflections. |
