Computational thinking is an indispensable and important skill in the information age,and it is also a core quality of quality education. The research shows that the use of "unplugged" computer science activities to cultivate students’ computational thinking is helpful to the exploration of the cultivation of computational thinking, can make the cultivation of students’ computational thinking more interesting and feasible,is conducive to the cultivation of computational thinking is another effective way.Firstly, this study expounds the current research status of computational thinking and "unplugged" activities through literature review, including the definition of computational thinking given by scholars from various countries, the three dimensions and five core elements of computational thinking, the research progress of computational thinking at home and abroad, the cultivation of computational thinking and the related research of "unplugged" activities. Then, the concepts of computational thinking and "unplugged" activities are defined. After the above review, the teaching model and teaching method suitable for cultivating computational thinking are adopted, and the relevant theoretical basis is given.Secondly,on the basis of the above theories,a course for cultivating computational thinking based on "unplugged" activity is designed. The core elements of computational thinking are integrated into the course, which is divided into three stages of different difficulty, namely, the basic stage, the advanced stage and the comprehensive stage. In total, the activity design of each class period is centered on the five core elements of computational thinking. Then, the teaching design is applied to the teaching practice, and activities are completed in class. In the process of student learning, the teacher timely guides and records, evaluates students’ classroom performance through observation and record, and evaluates students’ usual learning situation by using the classroom performance scale after the completion of the course. The authoritative test of computational thinking is used to measure the level of students’ computational thinking ability, and then an interview is conducted to review the previous assessment, review the content of students’ learning again, and deepen their understanding of computational thinking. Finally, summarize and reflect on this research. The teaching practice of the three stages shows that the basic education stage is very important for cultivating the computational thinking ability of primary school students.Students also have a strong interest in the training of computational thinking in the "unplugged" activity course, and can apply the method of computational thinking to practical problem solving. Therefore,it is effective to train the computational thinking of primary school students based on the "unplugged" activity course.
