Mathematics homework is the continuation and supplement of class,and is an essential link in mathematics education and teaching.Math homework can not only help students consolidate knowledge,but also serve as the feedback of teachers’ teaching effect.Teachers can timely adjust the teaching plan according to students’ completion of homework.However,under the influence of the exam-oriented education system and the tactical concept,the homework burden of students is increasing day by day,which makes the homework can not really play its due role.In order to change this situation,in July 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and The General Office of the State Council jointly issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Homework Burden and Off-campus Training Burden of students in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as "double reduction").The policy specifies goals such as "the average time for middle school students to complete written homework should not exceed 90 minutes" and "improving the quality of homework design." The "double reduction" policy aims to comprehensively reduce students’ homework,relieve students’ homework burden and return to the essence of education.Therefore,"double reduction" puts forward higher requirements for teachers’ classroom teaching and homework design,expecting teachers to achieve the goal of "reducing burden and improving quality",so as to improve students’ learning efficiency and quality.Therefore,this paper explores the design of mathematics homework under the "double minus" policy.This paper first collates and analyzes domestic and foreign literature on mathematics homework design in junior middle school and reducing students’ burden.Then,based on the mathematics curriculum standard of compulsory education,based on the theory of humanism,the theory of the closest development area,and the theory of multiple intelligences,this paper conducts a survey on the grade 1 students and teachers in a middle school in Jingzhou by means of student questionnaire survey and teacher interview.To understand the changes of students’ math homework after "double minus" and summarize the problems and reasons of math homework under the background of "double minus".Finally,according to the literature reviewed and my own practice experience,the author puts forward the improvement strategy of junior middle school math homework design under the background of "double reduction" : changing teachers’ ideas,establishing students’ view of homework,rationally allocating homework difficulty,adopting hierarchical homework design,enriching homework sources,diversifying homework evaluation,and reducing teachers’ non-teaching work burden.
