A Case Study On The Adaptation Difficulties Of The Elderly With Five Guarantees In Nursing Homes

After the five guarantees old people move into institutions,a large number of problems also appear.The institutional personnel lack humanized services and are easy to ignore the psychological care of the five guarantees old people.After coming to the nursing home,it often takes some time to adapt to the new environment.This study found,after a survey,that the five elderly people in residential care homes generally have difficulties in adapting to new roles and establishing good interpersonal relationships.Therefore,social workers carry out professional services in residential care homes for the elderly mainly to solve the problems of adaptation to life,help the elderly to improve their sense of self-worth,enrich their leisure time,and reshape their social skills.This paper takes K elderly people with adjustment difficulties in residential care homes as the research object,and learns through observation and interview that the main problems of the elderly people are: low self-worth,broken family relationships,and social barriers;the causes of adjustment difficulties in residential care homes are: cognitive barriers,emotional deficits,and weak interpersonal relationships;according to the service demand,we adopt a case social work approach,using behavioral cognitive theory,dominant perspective theory,social support theory,and case work skills to solve the problems of the elderly people in residential care homes.Based on the service needs,we adopted a case social work approach,using behavioral cognitive theory,strengths perspective theory,social support theory and case work skills,combining theory and practice to help the elderly solve the problems they face through four stages,enhance their self-worth and gain external recognition,thus creating a sense of belonging to the home.The conclusion of the service is that improving the self-confidence and well-being of the elderly and providing them with social security is an effective solution to their adjustment difficulties.Finally,it is suggested that social work positions should be established in the homes and the staff should be professionally trained,and the staff should pay more attention to the living conditions of the elderly and cooperate with multiple resources,it is hoped to provide reference value for the case study on the adaptation difficulties of the five elderly people.
