Social Work Intervenes In The Social Adaptation Of The Old People In The Move

With the development of society and the acceleration of urbanization,more and more elderly people are following their children or relatives to move to a foreign land because they need to take care of their younger generation or pursue a better material living environment.For the elderly who are moving,this is not only a change in the region,but also to pull them out of their original social relationships.Many problems faced by the old people,such as: language barriers,difficulties in interpersonal communication,significant psychological gaps from “home” to “children’s home”,and significant differences in urban and rural living environment and lifestyle,all affect the elderly who have entered the following year.Adapt to urban social life.Based on the theory of social adaptation and the theory of role conflict,this paper divides the urban adaptation of the old people into three parts: social interaction adaptation,psychological adaptation and life adaptation.When the elderly move to the city,they have difficulties in dealing with their peer groups,community organizations and their families due to various reasons;and the psychological adaptation problems such as the lack of urban integration,the indifference of ownership,the psychological shift of family roles and status change,and the lifestyle,consumption Family conflicts and intergenerational conflicts brought about by differences in habits and educational methods.The elderly are not intertwined by factors such as low initiative to adapt to the city,poor communication with peer groups and family members,and slow development of community organizations,making the urban social adaptation of the old people moving with difficulties difficult.Through interviews and observations,this paper evaluates and analyzes the needs of the elderly in the Alashan League A factory,using casework and group work,combined with the preliminary investigation,social workers adopt casework methods to help the elderly and their families to solve intergenerational conflicts.The problem;carry out targeted group work,build a social support network for the elderly who are moving,use the team’s motivation to better help the elderly to ease the psychological pressure,promote communication and exchanges between the elderly,and help the elderly to establish a social support network for self-help and mutual assistance.Improving the social adaptability of the old people at the same time requires multi-party cooperation at the individual level,family level,social level,and policy fame,including the understanding and support of social policies and community organizations.It also requires family help and guidance.Therefore,social work involves intervention.The study of urban adaptation in the elderly is of paradox.
