The primary school stage is the embryonic stage of children’s physical and mental development,the development and progress of primary education shoulder the future of the country and the nation,and the moral cultivation of primary school students affects the ideological level of the country’s future pillars,and is related to the future development and prosperity,civilization and progress of the country.At the the 18th National Congress of the CPC,for the first time,it was proposed to "establishing moral values and educating people" as the fundamental task of education,and called for giving full play to the moral education function of various disciplines,which shows that the state is paying more and more attention to strengthening the ideological and moral education of young children.As an important foundation for students to learn other subjects,Chinese subject also plays a role in cultivating students moral qualities while teaching them the subject knowledge.As an important learning resource for language teaching,Chinese textbooks play a crucial role in the education and teaching process.The ministerial version of the elementary school language textbook was fully put into use in 2019,which attaches importance to the organic penetration of moral education,and many contents contain elements of moral education and attach importance to improving the moral quality of elementary school students.This paper takes this as an entry point and selects the middle grade(grade 3 and 4)language textbook of the Ministry of Education version of elementary school as a research sample to analyze the content of the moral education elements contained in it,and the questions of inquiry mainly focus on the proportion of the content of moral education elements,the specific distribution and the way of presentation.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the origin of the selected topic,definition of the concept,significance of the study,methodology,object,and a review of previous research results.The second part explains the value and status of the central textbook of moral education in language subjects.The third part is the content composition of the moral education elements in the middle grade language textbooks of the Ministry of Education.Using the methods of documentary analysis and content analysis,we first construct an "analysis table of moral education elements in elementary school language teaching materials",and then conduct a statistical and analysis of the moral education elements in the middle grade language teaching materials of the Ministry of Education based on this table.The analysis is mainly based on the general distribution of moral education elements in the three systems and the specific distribution characteristics of their contents.In the fourth part,based on the research results of previous studies on textbook presentation and the previous analysis,we conclude that the presentation of moral education elements in this study is in the form of text narrative,illustration and task activity.The fifth part is the conclusion and suggestion.Based on the contents of Part III and Part IV,the following conclusions can be drawn: first,the Ministry of Education textbook attaches importance to the integration of moral education elements;second,the presentation of moral education elements is consistent with students’ physical and mental development;third,the presentation of moral education elements focuses on the connection between systems;fourth,the number of moral education elements is not balanced and the relevance of the times is slightly weak.At the same time,we put forward several teaching suggestions on how teachers can make full use of the language teaching materials of the Ministry to implement moral education and give full play to the nurturing function of the language subject,in order to improve the effectiveness of moral education in the language subject and truly implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education for people.
