With the complex and volatile world environment,the poverty reduction goal of the United Nations sustainable development agenda has become more difficult to achieve.Up to now,20 million people in the world are still in extreme poverty.In 2020,China has comprehensively solved the problem of absolute poverty that has plagued the Chinese nation for thousands of years,and completed the poverty reduction goal of the United Nations sustainable development agenda ten years ahead of schedule.This historic achievement cannot be separated from the high attention of the Party and the government,let alone the precise assistance of various poverty alleviation measures.Unlike any other poverty alleviation measures,education poverty alleviation is more universal and can block the intergenerational transmission of poverty.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive empirical test of the effect of education poverty reduction under targeted poverty alleviation,and sort out the experience and enlightenment of education poverty reduction in China,with a view to providing value reference for the development of education at the stage of rural revitalization and providing a Chinese plan for the international education poverty alleviation.Based on theoretical analysis,this thesis defines the connotation and extension of education poverty reduction,summarizes and combs out the theoretical basis and mechanism of education poverty reduction.On this basis,the empirical test of the effect of education poverty reduction is carried out from the perspectives of education equity and education economic function.First of all,in the empirical test of the poverty reduction effect of education equity,the per capita education years and the Gini coefficient of education have been measured and analyzed.The data shows that the per capita education years of the country have increased steadily year by year,the average annual growth rate of regions with backward education development is faster,the gap between regions in education level has been improved,and there is still a large gap between regions.China’s overall education equity is high,and the Gini coefficient of education has little room for improvement.Further construct the measurement model between education equity and education poverty reduction effect,and use the instrumental variable method and the system GMM estimation method to obtain that the degree of education equity has a significant positive impact on education poverty reduction effect.Secondly,in the empirical test of the poverty reduction effect of the economic function of education,the impact of education on the income of labor force is analyzed by measuring the return rate of education.Combining the theory of human capital and Cobb Douglas production function,we construct the education production function,and use ridge regression and lasso regression to analyze the impact of education on regional economic growth and the contribution rate of labor force with different education levels to regional economic growth.Further explore the role of education in promoting regional economic growth,build an intermediary model between education human capital,technological innovation and regional economic growth,and analyze the lag effect,regional heterogeneity and role path of education human capital in promoting economic growth through fixed effect model regression.On the basis of theoretical analysis and empirical test,this thesis summarizes and discusses the experience and enlightenment of poverty reduction through education,which are mainly reflected in five aspects.First,improve the system and establish a long-term mechanism to lay a solid foundation for the effective implementation of education poverty alleviation;The second is to take the government as the leading force,coordinate all forces,give full play to the strengths and advantages of all forces,and constantly inject fresh blood into the education poverty alleviation strategy.Third,the coordinated development of various poverty alleviation measures will ensure the overall victory of the fight against poverty.Fourth,optimize the allocation of resources,coordinate regional development,ensure that students in all regions can get the same education opportunities,and solve the problems of urban and rural education development.Fifth,strengthen education awareness,improve employment security,and realize the all-round development of people through education.
