The protection of intangible cultural heritage is beneficial in the present time and merits a thousand years.Article 34 of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Intangible Cultural Heritage clearly stipulates that "schools shall carry out relevant education on intangible cultural heritage in accordance with the regulations of the competent educational departments of the State Council." Elementary school is an important stage for students to understand society and form self-cognition,and it is important to carry out education on intangible cultural heritage in elementary schools to stimulate students’ national identity and enhance their cultural confidence. The preservation of ICH includes the transmission of ICH skills and the dissemination of ICH culture, which fits the practical and generative characteristics of comprehensive practical activities in elementary school. At present,it is being carried out in various schools in full swing. In order to better promote the conservation of NRM,bring into play its nurturing function, and improve the integrated practical activities in elementary school,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the integrated practical activities based on the theme of NRM conservation in elementary school. After combing through the relevant literature,we found that the successful implementation of integrated practical activities in elementary schools based on the theme of NRM conservation requires both the establishment of systematic strategies at the macro level and the implementation of concrete actions at the micro level. This study investigates and analyzes the comprehensive practical activities based on the theme of non-heritage conservation in M elementary school in Luoyang City through observation, interview, and physical analysis. At the macro level, the SWOT analysis model was used to analyze the current situation of the comprehensive practical activities based on the theme of non-heritage conservation in M Primary School, and it was concluded that its internal strengths include positive atmosphere for implementation, perfect supporting facilities, and rich experience in activities;internal weaknesses include deviation in the concept of implementation,single-use of resources, and neglect of teachers’ and students’ needs;external opportunities include excellent cultural resources, favorable policy support, and urgent needs of teachers and students,The external opportunities include excellent cultural resources, favorable policy support, and urgent practical needs;the external threats include the utilitarian educational environment, the lack of professional teachers, and the distortion of educational policies.Based on the SWOT analysis, the study proposes strategies for the development of comprehensive practical activities in elementary school with the theme of preserving non-heritage,i.e.summarizing the experience of carrying out comprehensive practical activities, grasping the connotation of comprehensive practical activities and practicing them in depth;forming a consensus among families and schools to highlight the value and significance of comprehensive practical activities of non-heritage;improving the training system to enhance teachers’ ability to implement comprehensive practical activities of non-heritage;and digging deeper into the resources of non-heritage to realize the transformation from cultural resources to curriculum resources. At the micro level, taking the comprehensive practical activity of paper carving of NRM as an example,it is found that the activity has the problems of inappropriate goal setting, monotonous and uninteresting content, casual and low atmosphere, and single stereotyped evaluation. In response to the above problems, the study was guided by modern activity theory, analyzed the activity subject, object, community, tools, division of labor and rules, and optimized the activity design according to the process of jointly establishing goals, selecting tools and establishing rules to establish community, dividing tasks, object transformation and multiple evaluation.By comparing the teaching effects before and after the optimization of activities,we found that the improved teaching design achieved the transmission of skills and cultural dissemination of non-heritage paper carving, realized the training objectives of comprehensive practical activities in elementary school, deepened students’ understanding of non-heritage,strengthened students’ identification with regional culture, and enriched the communication and interaction between teachers and students.
