From the very beginning of art therapy,art has shown great healing power for psychology.《The Guide to the Learning and Development of 3-6 years Old Children》 profoundly points out the importance of negative emotion regulation for the healthy growth of children’s body and mind,and also profoundly puts forward the educational concept of combining art and emotion.For children,painting is the most natural and authentic way to express themselves.Many researchers also study the characteristics of children’s painting works from different dimensions,and summarize the characteristics of children’s drawing ability developmentTherefore,this study explores the influence of free painting on the negative emotion regulation of children in large classes,analyzes the characteristics of children’s painting works in large classes under negative emotions,and aims to enrich the theories of these two research fields as well as give guidance and suggestions to teachers and parents who are helpless in the face of children’s emotional difficulties.In this study,six senior class children from a demonstration kindergarten in Shanghai were randomly divided into experimental group and control group(56 children in experimental group and 50 children in control group).Experimental method was used to explore the influence of free painting on the emotional regulation of large class children under negative emotions.Using interview method and work analysis method from the theme,color,composition,modeling of four dimensions of children’s painting works are analyzed.Among the findings:1.Painting and mutual talk can effectively promote the adjustment of children’s negative emotions,but the degree of painting adjustment of negative emotions is significantly higher than mutual talk.2.On the whole,painting themes tend to be social life scenes,virtual imagination types and positive emotional events;Color quantity distribution is more balanced,color types tend to be warm;The composition is based on baseline and independent activities.Modeling is mainly functional;3.Paintings of different genders and emotional themes have different preferences in the four dimensions of theme,color,composition and modeling.(1)Different genders: In terms of theme,the distribution trend of male and female students’ paintings decreased in the order of positive emotional events,negative emotional events and neutral events.The frequency of male students’ paintings of positive emotional events was much higher than that of female students.In terms of color,the number of colors in the paintings of male and female students showed a "complementary" trend,while the variety of colors in the paintings of female students was more abundant.In terms of composition,the images in female students’ paintings are distributed in more diversified ways and there are more relationships between the existing images.In modeling,the girl’s modeling of the image is more detailed and beautiful.(2)Different emotional themes: In terms of themes,positive emotional events and negative emotional events in social life scenes are basically equal,but in plants,animals,natural scenery,military,architecture,transportation and virtual imagination types,positive emotional events are more favorable.In terms of the number of colors,only 5% of the paintings depicting positive emotional events were monochrome,40%of the paintings depicting negative emotional events were monochrome,and no monochrome drawings were found in the paintings depicting neutral events.In terms of color types,works depicting positive emotional events and negative emotional events prefer warm colors,while works depicting neutral events have no preference for color types.In terms of composition,in the works depicting three kinds of emotional events,the image distribution mode most frequently appears in the baseline type.In the works depicting positive emotional events,the relationship between images appears most frequently in the works depicting no human or animal images,while in the works depicting negative emotional events,there are human or animal images.In terms of modeling,functional form is the most common image in paintings depicting negative emotional events.In paintings depicting positive emotional events,the distribution of functional form,details and decorative form is very balanced,while details and decorative form are the most common image in paintings depicting neutral events.From the very beginning of art healing,art has shown great healing researchers suggest: 1.Integrate art to support children’s negative emotion regulation;2.Create conditions to help children feel life from multiple perspectives;3.Enrich expression and improve children’s painting skills.
