With the development of our economy, more and more elderly people have the ability to dispose of their money freely. However, the elderly are very limited in their access to new things and their ability to distinguish between good and bad things is low,and with most of their children spending little time with them, they are psychologically lonely and easily fooled. As a result, more and more criminals are turning their attention to the elderly, who are easy targets for financial fraud, telecommunication fraud and health care fraud,Financial scams, telecommunication scams, health care scams and superstition scams are all emerging,so it is important to raise awareness of fraud prevention among the elderly. This paper uses cognitive behavioural theory to investigate how to improve the problem of weak fraud prevention awareness among older people.Firstly, interviews were conducted with 30 elderly people over 60 years of age in the district, and it was found that there are two reasons why elderly people are deceived: one is the elderly themselves.Single access to information, misconceptions and lack of discernment, greed for bargains, etc.;secondly, family and social aspects.Weak social support network, inadequate supervision, etc. It can be seen that there is a need to expand the social support network, learn fraud prevention skills and enhance fraud prevention awareness among the elderly in J District, and social work intervention can correct the problems of misconceptions about fraud and weak social support network among the elderly.Eight older people were recruited as group members for this study, and six group activities were conducted. The activities included watching a fraud prevention video,self-exposure,scenario discussions, interesting quizzes, acting out scenarios and various related warm-up games. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the group’s implementation was then conducted, consisting of a process evaluation and an outcome evaluation. The process evaluation was a summary of each group activity recorded during the study, and the outcome evaluation was a pre-and post-test questionnaire that the group members were invited to complete,a satisfaction rating form for the group activities and feedback from the group members. The results showed that eight older people had different levels of awareness of fraud prevention and were satisfied with the model of group work intervention, indicating the feasibility of the "fraud prevention education group" intervention. Finally,an overall summary and reflection of the fraud prevention group activities was conducted. The group activities have basically achieved the objectives of correcting the misconceptions of the group members and expanding social interaction, but there are still problems of low motivation and discipline of the group members and lack of professionalism of the social workers in the process of practice.Reflections were made on the promotion of social work with the elderly as a whole to protect the rights and interests of the elderly and to call on society as a whole to pay more attention to them.
