A Study On The Group Working Methods Of Raising The Awareness Of Safe Medication For The Elderly In The "Village Resettlement" Community

With the increasing aging population in nowadays,the chronic diseases have become an important factor threatening the health of residents.P community is the “ village resettlement ” community,which is the product of Fuzhou city’s urban development process.The survey found that the elderly in this community suffering from different kinds of chronic diseases because of their past agricultural experience and living habits.And they lack of drug knowledge and poor medication compliance,which will bring serious illness complications and poor control of chronic diseases.This will threaten their life and health,how to improve the awareness of safe medication has become a top priority.Under the guidance of social learning theory and reciprocity mode,this paper uses participatory observation and semi-structured interviews method to explore how the group work method can improve the awareness of safe medication for the elderly in the“village resettlement” communities.The study found that the elderly in the "village resettlement" are different from the urban community,the group activities needed to have cultural sensitivity;the awareness of safe medication for the elderly in the “village resettlement” community will have a certain improving service effect by the reciprocal model by social learning theory.In such "village-to-village" communities,the most important factors influencing the formation of group dynamics are the establishment of social workers’ relationships with service recipients,as well as the cultural background of service recipients.Therefore,The method of improving drug awareness in the “village resettlement” communities should pay attention to the different stages of social workers’ top priority;establishing relationships with service recipients;adopting a friend-to-companion publicity method can increase the group participation rate of service recipients;creating a respectful atmosphere in the group process;applying the concept of mutual assistance can reduce the attrition rate of group members and maintain participation interest;the persistence of peer mutual assistance behavior after the group assignment;providing opportunities for role models etc will effectively maintain the group awareness and action.There are many “village resettlement” communities in China.The social workers not only need to improve their professional capabilities,but also integrate multi-party resource to do a good job in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in above communities.
