Preschool education related documents are pointed out to use local cultural resources,the germination of children love home,love the motherland emotion.In recent years,many studies have been carried out in the field of preschool education on the integration of local culture into kindergarten-based curriculum.Most of the existing studies are based on the adult perspective,focusing on the content and implementation of local cultural curriculum,while few studies are based on the perspective of children.Children’s love for hometown is based on understanding.Therefore,based on the perspective of children,to explore the understanding characteristics of hometown in the eyes of children,for the kindergarten to carry out the germination of children love hometown emotional education activities,to implement the requirements of preschool education policies,to provide certain basis and reference.In this study,40 children(64 months to 72 months old)from three large classes of L Kindergarten in Luoyang were selected as study participants.Using Mosaic method(including interview,painting analysis and picture recall),143 original materials such as interviews,paintings,pictures and audio were collected.NVivo11,a qualitative research and analysis tool,is used to analyze the original data and conclude three dimensions of children’s understanding of "hometown" : the cognition of the concept of hometown;Understanding of local identity of hometown;Understanding of local geography.The research shows that children’s understanding of hometown presents the following characteristics: first,children have different cognitive levels of the concept of hometown;second,Children’s understanding of the spatial relationship of hometown has not reached the due level;third.Children’s perception of the cultural environment in their hometown is obvious;fourth,children pay more attention to the "micro system" of home things.The internal factors of forming these characteristics include: children’s thinking development level and memory ability affect children’s understanding of hometown;Children’s character and interest in painting affect children’s emotional expression to their hometown.External factors include: the absence of home-loving education for children;The deficiency of the theme education of love for hometown in kindergartens;Environment influences the construction of children’s hometown cognition.Based on children’s understanding of the characteristics and influencing factors of hometown,this paper puts forward some educational suggestions for children’s love of hometown: first,follow children’s cognitive characteristics,improve children’s hometown concept cognition level;second,Guide children to understand regional spatial relations and cultivate their hometown regional identity;third Deepening children’s perception of hometown cultural environment requires joint efforts of all parties;fourth,to carry out the theme of love hometown activities,pay attention to "listen" to children’s views and experience.
