Research On The Construction Of Social Support Network For Rural Low Income Families Involved In Case Work

In 2020,China successfully achieved the overall goal of poverty alleviation and eliminated absolute poverty,which was a huge achievement.However,eliminating absolute poverty is only the beginning of our anti-poverty work.In future work,the most important task is to further address and improve the problem of relative poverty.For a long time,rural low-income households in our country have been in a "vulnerable" state.Studies have shown that the current situation of this group’s plight is related to the unhealthy state of their social support network.It is impossible to build a complete social support network system solely relying on the government’s power,but rather from various aspects of society.Social workers should actively participate in it,adhere to the work principle of "helping people to help themselves",provide services to the difficult population in the society with a professional way,and establish a more sound social support system for rural low-income families,striving to find suitable paths out of poverty and provide more professional and scientific services for this group.This article first takes 20 low-income families receiving social assistance in X village,Miyun District,Beijing,as the service object,and analyzes the current situation and causes of the social support network of low-income families in X village through research methods such as questionnaire surveys,observations,and interviews.Secondly,based on social support theory and strengths perspective theory,a representative family was selected from the 20 low-income families for case intervention,and intervention goals were formulated based on the basic information and assessment of their needs and social support network.Finally,under the premise of determining the intervention plan and goals,social workers played multiple roles as enablers,educators,advocates,resource linkers,and therapists,using their professional methods and skills to ease conflicts between the case subject and their family,explore available internal and external social resources,stimulate the potential of the service object,and help the case family build a complete social support network.In order to promote the case work in solving the social support network problems of rural low-income families,and to better play its role,inspiration for social workers to intervene in the social support problems of rural low-income families.Through the author’s evaluation and reflection on the early intervention process and results of individual cases,several path considerations have been proposed on how to improve the social support network of rural low-income families,mainly including improving the formal and informal social support levels: strengthening the leading role of government departments;Encourage social organizations to provide support for rural low-income families;Fully leverage the coordinating role of the community(village committee);Strengthen communication and exchange between low-income families,family,friends,and neighbors,and jointly improve the social support network for rural low-income families.
