| In the modern age of rapid societal development and accelerating pace of life,adolescents face increasing psychological pressure,leading to prominent mental health issues.Therefore,the integration of mental health education into school curricula,especially physical education,has become particularly important.The aim of this study is to investigate the application effects of mental health education in physical education teaching,with middle school students from Xiyuan Middle School in Lianyungang as the research subjects.This study employs experimental methods,questionnaire surveys,and literature review to define concepts related to mental health and mental health education in detail and to comprehensively collate the current research status at home and abroad.Subsequently,the middle school students from Xiyuan Middle School in Lianyungang were selected as research subjects and divided into experimental and control groups.Measures and comparisons of physical anxiety levels,self-efficacy,and mental health levels were conducted before and after the experiment for both groups.After integrating mental health education into physical education teaching in the experimental group,students’ physical anxiety levels significantly decreased,self-efficacy was significantly enhanced,and mental health levels were accordingly improved;whereas these indicators changed little for the control group.The effective integration of mental health education into middle school physical education teaching has a significant effect on improving students’ mental health levels.This includes enhancing students’ self-esteem and self-confidence,strengthening self-management skills,reducing psychological pressure,and improving cooperation awareness and team spirit.Hence,it is strongly recommended for schools to pay more attention to and incorporate mental health education in physical education teaching to help students effectively alleviate pressure,enhance self-efficacy,and thereby comprehensively improve their mental health levels.The results of this study provide a strong theoretical basis and practical guidance for further application and development of mental health education in physical education teaching in the future. |
