The ideological and political theory course is a key course for implementing moral education and cultivating talents.The teaching quality of high school ideological and political courses deeply affects the cultivation of high school students’ values.The "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Construction of Ideological and Political Courses in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era" issued by the Ministry of Education points out that we should adhere to the working principles of highlighting the key position,strengthening coordinated implementation,adhering to problem orientation,and deepening reform and innovation.In teaching,we should enhance problem awareness,adhere to problem orientation,focus on solving the pain points of ideological and political education,and enhance the attractiveness and effectiveness of ideological and political courses.Problem based teaching method is a teaching method that enhances students’ self-directed learning ability and enhances their core competencies in the process of discovering,raising,analyzing,and solving problems by creating problem situations.The problem-based teaching method is a teaching method that centers around problems and focuses on students,effectively improving the teaching effectiveness of ideological and political courses.This article takes Baogang No.1 Middle School in Baotou City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the starting point to understand the current situation of using problembased teaching method to improve students’ self-learning ability in high school ideological and political education,analyze the existing problems and reasons,and propose reasonable suggestions.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is an introduction,which includes the research background,significance,current research status,research methods,innovation and shortcomings of problem-based teaching method in improving students’ autonomous learning ability.The second part is an overview of problem-based teaching method and self-learning ability,including the connotation and characteristics of problem-based teaching method,the connotation and composition of self-learning ability,and the theoretical basis for problem-based teaching method to enhance students’ self-learning ability.The third part is a survey on the current situation of using problem-based teaching method to enhance students’ self-learning ability in ideological and political education at Baogang No.1 Middle School.It is divided into a survey questionnaire for students and an interview survey for teachers,including the survey purpose,survey objects,questionnaire design,and data analysis.The fourth part is a scientific analysis of the data obtained from the survey questionnaire and interview,which identifies the problems and reasons that exist in the process of using problem-based teaching method to enhance students’ autonomous learning ability in high school ideological and political education.The fifth part is a strategy proposed for addressing existing problems.It proposes strategies from the four stages of implementing problem-based teaching methods,namely the problem design stage,problem proposal stage,problem solving stage,and problem evaluation stage.It should be based on overall design teaching to enhance students’ self-directed ability;Cultivate students’ problem awareness and enhance their ability to apply learning strategies;Constructing a problem-based teaching model to enhance students’ self-monitoring ability;Build a problem evaluation system and enhance self-evaluation ability.
