| The report of the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has clearly put forward the fundamental task of education,which makes moral education in schools increasingly important and necessary.As an important part of moral education in schools,moral education in physical education has a unique function and value in educating people.As the main basis for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning,high school physical education and health textbooks play an important role in teaching.This paper constructs the moral education content system of high school physical education and health textbooks through literature,survey and mathematical statistics,and on this basis,uses the text analysis method to sort out and summarise the structure of moral education content and the presentation of moral education content in the General High School Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standard(2017Edition),as well as the Shanghai Education Edition and the Renmin Education Edition of high school physical education and health textbooks,and to investigate the commonalities and respective characteristics of the moral education content of the two editions.The study also analyses the commonalities and characteristics of the two textbooks,summarises the strengths and identifies the weaknesses,and makes rational suggestions for further enriching and improving the moral education content in senior secondary physical education and health textbooks.The following conclusions were drawn from this study:(1)The moral education content system of high school physical education and health textbooks should be constructed based on national policy documents and the requirements of the times,and based on the theory of human subjectivity,system theory and moral cognitive development theory.It is constructed with 5 primary indicators: political education,ideological education,moral education,mental health education and rule of law education,14 secondary indicators: education on socialism with Chinese characteristics and Chinese dream,education on core socialist values,education on excellent Chinese traditional culture,education on personal character,education on social morality,education on professional morality,education on world view,education on life view,education on values,education on personal will,education on social environment adaptation education,sexual psychology education,education on legal content system,education on the concept of rule of law awareness and 31 tertiary indicators can provide some theoretical guidance for the selection of moral education content in high school physical education and health textbooks.(2)The new curriculum and the two versions of textbooks have implemented the moral education of subjects,but the moral education content in political education,ideological education and rule of law education is less presented.By comparing the moral education content system that has been constructed and analyzing the moral education content in the General High School Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)as well as the Shanghai Education Edition and the Human Education Edition textbooks,it is found that the new curriculum and the two editions of textbooks are richer in moral education and mental health education,and less relevant content about political education,ideological education and rule of law education.(3)The presentation of moral education content in the two editions of textbooks is more diverse,but could be further enriched.In general,the presentation of moral education content in textbooks is mainly in the form of declarative sentences and zero-and second-person narrative perspectives.The textbooks in the Shanghai Education Edition are all text-based and lack other forms of presentation,such as diagrams and charts,while the Humanities Education Edition has increased the use of illustrations compared to the Shanghai Education Edition,but the illustrations are more monotonous and are mostly illustrative and representational.Based on the above findings,the following recommendations are made:(1)Improve the content of moral education in curriculum standards and textbooks.When conducting future revisions of the General High School Physical Education and Health Curriculum Standards and Physical Education and Health textbooks,moral education content related to political education,ideological education and rule of law education should be added to physical activities,sports programs and daily exercise as appropriate.(2)Enrich the presentation of moral education content in textbooks.The text and illustrations can be effectively combined by adding more sentences and expressions and by adding a variety of different forms of illustrations.In addition,specific cases related to the moral education subject matter should be added. |
