| National identity of Chinese youth is an important factor related to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Party and state leaders have always attached great importance to national identity education for young people.Especially in the current international environment that is becoming increasingly complex, education on national identity for Chinese youth has become particularly important. In May 2017,the "Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of Children and Adolescents(2016-2025)" issued by the country clearly stated: "It is necessary to enhance the national identity, ethnic identity, and cultural identity of young people",which fully demonstrates that the state has raised the education of national identity for young people to a new height. At the same time, the positive role of large-scale sports events such as the Olympics in promoting national identity among young people has become a consensus in the academic community.Currently, research on the relationship between large international sports events, national identity, social expectations, and event support among young people is mostly at the stage of logical speculation at the macro level, and there is still very little empirical research on the micro level relationship. Therefore, conducting empirical research on the relationship and influence of national identity, social expectations, and event support among young people in the context of the Beijing Winter Olympics can not only make up for the shortcomings of research in this field but also provide new research paradigms to enrich theoretical research on the impact of events on national identity. This study uses research methods such as literature review, questionnaire survey, and mathematical statistics.Using the self-designed and revised questionnaire on the influence of the Beijing Winter Olympics on national identity, social expectations, and event support among young people, empirical research was conducted on young people aged 12-15 in Beijing. The results show that:(1)The self-designed and revised questionnaire on the influence of the Beijing Winter Olympics on national identity, social expectations, and event support among young people has good reliability and validity and can provide reference tools for evaluating the social effects of large international sports events organized by local governments in the future.(2)In the context of the Beijing Winter Olympics, there is a correlation between national identity, social expectations, and event support among young people. This indicates that the level of national identity among young people can effectively predict their social expectations and event support.(3)In the context of the Beijing Winter Olympics, social expectations among young people play a partial mediating role between national identity and event support, effectively supporting the academic consensus that "the hosting of large-scale sports events can improve the national identity of local young people."... |
