| There has been a major shift in our education in recent years,from the implementation of policies related to "building moral values","double reduction" and "health first" to the implementation of "new curriculum".The implementation of the "New Curriculum" has highlighted the high concern of the Party and the State for the overall development of young people.From the key words "moral education first" and "five education integration" in the relevant policy documents,we can see that the concept of "emphasis on education" has begun to take the leading position in China’s education,but in the current educational environment,there is still the phenomenon of "emphasis on cognition,not emotion".With the development of society,it is difficult to meet the needs of talent cultivation by simple knowledge-based learning.Young people need not only to improve their cognitive ability but also to develop their emotional ability so that they can adapt to the development of the current era and meet the requirements of talents in the current era.High school students are in the key period of their physical and mental health and social adaptability development,facing various pressures and challenges,and if they are maladjusted,they will have various problem behaviors,so more than cognitive skills,high school students need to develop social-emotional skills in order to be better equipped to deal with various tests.It has been shown that physical activity can positively influence students’ socio-emotional competence development,but the mechanism is not yet clear.Therefore,it is important to investigate the mechanism of physical exercise on social-emotional competence and find the breakthrough point for social-emotional competence cultivation for the healthy development of students.To provide theoretical support for the study by combing and summarizing the existing literature through the documentation method;to investigate the physical activity,social-emotional competence,social support and mental toughness of high school students in Qingdao by means of a questionnaire;the survey data were analyzed by the mathematical and statistical method,and the relationship between the four variables of physical exercise,social-emotional competence,social support and mental toughness was investigated,as well as whether social support and mental toughness mediate the effects of physical activity on social-emotional competence,and the following conclusions were drawn:1.The high school students are at a moderate to low level of physical activity,and the social-emotional competence,social support and mental toughness are at a moderate to high level.2.High school students’ social-emotional competence,social support,and mental toughness differed significantly across physical activity volumes,with hi gher exercise volumes associated with higher social-emotional competence,soci al support,and mental toughness scores.The four variables of physical exercis e,social-emotional competence,social support and psychological toughness of h igh school students were positively and significantly correlated with each other.3.The physical exercise can predict the social-emotional competence,social support and mental toughness of high school students significantly and positively;social support can predict the social-emotional competence and mental toughness of high school students significantly and positively;mental toughness can significantly and positively predict high school students’ social-emotional competence.4.Social support and mental toughness play a partially mediating role in the influence of physical activity on high school students’ social-emotional ability.5.Social support and mental toughness play a chain mediating role in the influence of physical activity on high school students’ social-emotional ability. |
