Social and emotional ability is important to the comprehensive development of students.There is a great value to concern the students’ social and emotional ability for the high-quality development of Chinese education.and whether there is a complete and well-functioning social support system will inevitably affect the students’ social and emotional ability,to a certain extent,its impact is greater for students in rural areas with relatively short educational resources.Therefore,it is important to study the relationship between social and emotional ability and establish a social support system to promote the development of rural junior high school students’ social and emotional ability.In this study,302 students from X-League T Banner L Middle School in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are taken as research subjects.The research on the relationship between social and emotional ability and social support of rural junior high school students shows that:Their social and emotional ability and social support are at the upper middle level,on the whole,it is in a good condition.The social and emotional ability of rural junior high school students differ significantly from who serve as class leaders or not,and those in different grades,among them,the social and emotional ability of students who are class leaders are significantly higher than those of students who aren’t,and the social and emotional ability of students in the second and third grades are significantly higher than those in the first grade.In addition,the social support of junior high school students in rural areas has significant differences in different genders,class leader and non-class leader,and different grades,among them,the social support of girls are significantly higher than that of boys,the students who are class leaders are significantly higher than that of students who aren’t,and in the third grade,students’ social support is significantly higher than that of the second and first grades.Moreover,there is a positive correlation between social and emotional ability and social support of students,the social support can positively predict the development of social and emotional ability.According to the results of the research,and based on the ecological system theory,this study puts forward suggestions from the perspectives of micro system,medium system and macro system,which are closely related to rural junior high school students.Promote school implementation within the micro-system to create a supportive campus environment;Exert educational synergy within the system to form multi-scenario supportive links,Strengthen government leadership within the macro-system and build a supportive policy system.
