HPS is an educational concept put forward by the Austrian educator Mach at the end of the 19 th century.He believed that "there is no scientific education that can ignore the history of science and philosophy of science".Its original purpose is to improve students’ understanding of the nature of science.With the continuous development of scientific and technological society,people are increasingly aware of the inseparable relationship between scientific and technological development and social progress.Therefore,some science education scholars began to introduce sociology of science into HPS education concepts,so the meaning of HPS became the English abbreviation of history of science,philosophy of science and sociology of science,of which history of science is the core.HPS education concept is a teaching mode based on constructivism theory,taking the history of science as the main line,and helping students understand the development process of scientific knowledge by enriching classroom teaching content.During the implementation process,this teaching mode is interspersed with corresponding scientific methods and methods,linking physics knowledge with scientific technology and social development.It not only cultivates students’ exploration ability and critical spirit,but also strengthens their understanding of the essence of science.This indicates that this teaching mode affirms the value of science education for social development and can cultivate students’ core literacy in physics.This study conducts in-depth research on the application of HPS teaching mode in high school physics teaching based on the "Core Literacy of Physics Subject" proposed in the "General High School Physics Curriculum Standards".The main content and innovative points of this study are as follows:Using the questionnaire survey method,understand the integration of HPS teaching mode into high school physics classroom teaching from the perspective of students.The survey results indicate that high school physics teachers do not frequently apply the HPS teaching model in classroom teaching,and high school students’ interest in learning physics courses also needs to be improved.Based on the survey results,the researchers integrated HPS related resources from the Physics Compulsory Course 1 of the People’s Education Press regular high school textbook,and designed two teaching cases based on the HPS education concept.Using experimental research methods,different teaching modes were conducted in two classes of the first grade of a senior high school in Maqu County,Gansu Province.Among them,the fourth class(experimental class)adopted the HPS teaching mode,while the fifth class(control class)adopted the conventional teaching mode.A questionnaire survey was conducted before and after the teaching practice,and statistical analysis was used to test the effectiveness of the teaching mode,Analyze the effectiveness of teaching cases designed based on the HPS teaching philosophy.The survey results indicate that after using the HPS teaching model for teaching practice,the core competencies of the experimental class students have improved,with a significant increase compared to the control class.The application of HPS teaching mode in high school physics teaching has certain practical application value.While helping students stimulate their interest in learning,it can also enhance their exploration awareness and self-learning ability,enabling them to grow into valuable individuals more suitable for social development.
