In recent years, with the continuous advancement of the modernization and reform of the army, the military’s demand for college student soldiers has also expanded, especially after the implementation of the "two conscriptions and two retirement" policy, and the annual enlistment and discharge of college student soldiers has shown a trend of increasing year by year.Among the discharged soldiers, some college students who did not complete their study and went to further education returned to college through admission procedures or entrance examinations, but the environment has changed dramatically. How to adapt to the changes from the military camp to the campus quickly is directly related to the future development of retired college students,so in addition to the preferential treatment policies given to this special group by the government, attention should also be paid to their adaptation after returning to campus. This study took the college students who returned from military camp as the research object, based on resilience theory, role theory, and Johari window, collected data through questionnaire surveys,semi-structured interviews, participatory observation and other methods, finding that they had difficulties in role change, interpersonal communication, and professional learning during adaptation. In response to these problems, this study used group work methods,on the one hand, helped the retired college students understand their own roles, learn communication skills, and form learning mutual support groups so that they could move on.On the other hand, relying on the organization of the Camouflage Pioneer Camp of H University,it established external support for retired college students and formed a long-term support mechanism for the retired college students. Therefore,we can help the retired college students overcome campus adaptation difficulties from the two aspects of external environmental factors and individual internal factors in the resilience theory. The research shows that the group work intervention can make full use of the characteristics of retired college students who have returned to school, such as high homogeneity, good discipline and strong collective consciousness,to fully stimulate the internal motivation of group work and truly realize "helping others and helping themselves".And relying on the organization in the school,it can not only help the retired college students to improve the protection of external environmental factors, but also form a long-term help mechanism for the retired college students to return to school in the future. However,in the study, social workers also found shortcomings in the practical process: first, the role of social workers is vague, second, social workers are not fully linked to resources, third, group activities are not guiding enough, fourth, the form of group activities is single, and fifth, group work is more directional in the perspective of resilience. Finally, three suggestions are put forward for the involvement of social work in the dilemma of retired college students’ campus adaptation: first, embed social work methods into relevant organizations or institutions of retired college students;Second, colleges and universities can make full use of the professional advantages of social work to form institutional linkage;Third, use the perspective of resilience to solve the dilemma of campus adaptation of retired college students.
