With the continuous development of society, the problem of left-behind children has gradually attracted the attention of the Party, the country and the society. It is particularly important to help left-behind children return to restore their normal social functions and eliminate the physical and psychological imbalance of left-behind children themselves. As a profession and profession guided by professional values and using professional methods to help individuals, families and communities improve their abilities and solve their existing needs, social work should shoulder the responsibility of helping left-behind children to restore their balance.Through the literature search, this study found that social work mostly intervened in groups in the face of the practical need of "improving the self-confidence of left-behind children".Through summarizing and sorting out the existing practical service object selection, service duration, service frequency and service effect evaluation method,it is found that there is a general phenomenon of short service time but significant service effect. Can the social work with the characteristics of slow intervention effect, long time-consuming and small scale really achieve such a significant effect as described in the existing practice? In view of this, the routine and logic of the existing group intervention were summarized, the service scheme was redesigned according to the particularity of the intervention environment and the service objects, and the mixed evaluation method of "multi-group pre-test and post-test time series quasi-experimental design" combined with quantitative data and qualitative data was adopted. The use of mixed methods for combining quantitative data and qualitative data can help social workers to improve the scientific nature of experimental development and evaluation, and provide a complete evidence chain of evaluation. From the actual intervention process, the intervention effectiveness and reliability of the intervention are considered objectively and comprehensively. In the intervention process, reflect on the possible influencing factors, improve the intervention design, and enhance the intervention effect. After the group intervention, according to the data collected before and after the intervention,it was found that the confidence level of the left-behind children changed significantly;emotionally, the left-behind children were introverted and positive;in behavior, the performance in real classroom changed generally;the number of friends did not increase significantly. The differences between data,as well as the differences between left-behind children in the intervention process and the real life environment, are thought-provoking.Through deep reflection on the effect assessment data and the intervention process,Recognizing that for social work in China that helps its clients meet their needs in real life,The process of the existing intervention experiments and in the collection of quantitative data,It is difficult to avoid the acquisition of the questionnaire content by the intervention object;Self-growth of the group members; The dissemination of knowledge and the imitation of team members during the experiment;Self-abandonment of the team members;Compensatory competition among team members; The subjective tendency in the selection of the team members;Self-certification strategy of social workers; The impact of major events on the team members;Diversity of measurement tools;Statistical regression of individual team member status;Intervention on the instability of the team members;Effect and the timing of the intervention;Experimental findings do not necessarily reflect the impact of internal and external invalidation factors such as real life on the assessment results.Through the summary and reflection of the existing intervention experiments,it is found that the existing practice design has certain reference significance, but the original practice evaluation data collection is one-sided,and the conclusion needs to be considered. At the same time, the service effect is different between the intervention process and the actual situation, which requires social workers to systematically investigate the experimental design and carefully popularize the experimental conclusion. Therefore,in the future social work service, social workers should pay attention to the combination of the situation, respect the wishes of team members, ensure the participation in the activity;pay attention to the mid-term assessment and ensure the completion of the practical process;to integrate the professional social work methods such as cases and groups;in the action, and explore the internal and external connection of service results. In the evaluation, the one-sided intervention and long-term effect of service should be considered comprehensively considered,so as to avoid the impact of "short, frequency and fast" on social work intervention service.
