The 21 st century is not only the century of life science but also the century of information technology.With the rapid development of computer technology in today’s society,the cross-disciplines related to computer have bright prospects for development.Bioinformatics is a cross subject formed by computer and biology.With the explosive growth of biological data today,the storage,management,annotation and sharing of biological data is a great challenge.This subject plays a role in promoting the ability of contemporary high school students to collect information,analyze data and apply relevant tools to solve practical problems,so offering relevant courses is of great help to the development of science and the improvement of students’ own ability.This thesis makes a theoretical and practical research on the school-based curriculum of "Fundamentals of Bioinformatics".Firstly,through literature research,the research status of "school-based curriculum" and "middle school bioinformatics" at home and abroad is reviewed,the core concepts of "school-based curriculum development" and "bioinformatics" are defined,and the educational theory and development mode suitable for the curriculum are analyzed.On this basis,the research content and research ideas of this thesis are determined.Secondly,students’ demands for "biology","bioinformatics" and "school-based curriculum" are collected and analyzed through questionnaire survey.Thirdly,combined with the national educational purpose,the New Curriculum Standard,the students’ learning needs and the actual conditions of the school,the curriculum was designed and developed from the aspects of curriculum objectives,teaching content and evaluation system.The final school-based course of Bioinformatics includes five chapters,including "Introduction","Genome Sequencing","Sequence Analysis and Structure Prediction","Phylogenetic tree" and "Future Development",with a total of 14 class hours.Finally,this study chooses the teaching content of three periods for practice.During the class,the evaluation team teachers evaluate the three classes respectively through the classroom observation scale,and after class,the students conduct questionnaire survey and interview to realize the course evaluation.In addition,the course is adjusted and improved based on the teachers’ reflection.The research shows that the implementation of the school-based course "Basis of Bioinformatics" can improve students’ thirst for knowledge,enhance students’ ability to obtain and analyze bioinformatics data,use bioinformatics database and bioinformatics tools,expand students’ vision in informatics,provide a new direction for students’ career selection,and provide reference for front-line teachers to design relevant teaching content.This course provides ideas for the design and development of bioinformatics school-based courses in high school and enriches the types of biology school-based courses.Contributed some materials to the construction of school-based curriculum.
