With the continuous progress of society, the requirements for education in society are also constantly changing.Previously, traditional and single teaching methods were limited to the classroom, which has been difficult to meet the needs of social development. The country and society need innovative and practical talents, which requires schools to change their previous teaching models and continuously enrich and expand the teaching content of the curriculum. As a supplementary form of national curriculum,school-based curriculum has been favored by local governments and schools due to its flexibility and characteristics in the context of “Double New”;(new curriculum and new textbooks)education reform. Therefore, developing school-based courses with local and school characteristics, improving and enhancing the development of schools, and enhancing the quality of students are currently one of the important research topics. In this context, this study investigates the development and implementation of this curriculum in high school biology schools, with the aim of improving the school curriculum and enhancing students’ core competencies. This study conducted a case study of school-based curriculum in a middle school in Haikou City, inspiring students’ strong interest in high school biology, helping them form a correct outlook on life, and thereby enhancing their core literacy. It mainly includes the following content and conclusions:1.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews,it was found that many biology teachers have a high level of understanding of school-based curriculum, have some understanding of theoretical knowledge, have some experience in the development and implementation of approaches, and have a great willingness and initiative in the development of school-based curriculum. However, due to limited time and insufficient energy for school-based curriculum development, corresponding measures are proposed to address certain issues in school-based curriculum development, providing some guidance for further exploration of this study.2.Through communication and practice with biology teachers, the author explores the development of school-based biology curriculum and jointly organizes ideas for curriculum development and implementation. We can start from the following aspects: firstly, utilizing the unique natural environment and excellent culture of the local area as the best curriculum resources, laying the foundation for the extension of school-based curriculum.Secondly, under the guidance of teachers, students conduct small research projects through research-based learning to expand and develop local curriculum resources.Thirdly, starting from topics of interest to teachers or students, collect information, evaluate the feasibility of the topic, and provide specific implementation plans.Fourthly, combining traditional culture to enhance the support points of research projects, excellent traditional culture provides more ways for the development of school-based curriculum. Therefore, this project integrates the existing resources of the school, student interests, small projects, and excellent traditional culture under the background of “Double New”,improving students’ enthusiasm for learning biology and developing their core literacy. This not only provides theoretical and practical guidance for the research and development of school characteristic courses, but also provides more resources for school biology classroom education and teaching, and more learning materials for students, achieving the improvement and development of new educational and teaching concepts. |
