Informationization is a major trend in the development of today’s era, representing the direction of advanced productive forces.Knowledge updates are constantly changing. If modern people only maintain their current level of knowledge, they cannot meet future development needs.Only by possessing the motivation to enjoy lifelong learning and the ability to learn independently can they adapt to the rapidly developing social environment now and in the future. At the same time,in the field of secondary vocational education,in order to meet the requirements of promoting high-quality development of tourism vocational education in China’s "14th Five Year Plan" for the development of tourism industry,it is necessary to cultivate a group of tourism talents with high knowledge and skills. This requires vocational school students to have the ability to adapt to new technologies and skills,as well as the psychological adjustment ability to adapt to their positions.Metacognitive strategy,as an advanced learning strategy, can effectively exercise students’ autonomous learning ability and enhance their metacognitive level, thereby enhancing their psychological adjustment ability. Therefore, this study attempts to apply the "metacognitive strategy" to the classroom teaching of "Tourism Psychology" in vocational schools, construct a classroom teaching model, and verify the effectiveness of this model. This study is mainly divided into the following seven parts: The first part is an introduction, which mainly discusses the research background, significance, purpose, content, ideas, methods, and innovative points. The second part is the research foundation, mainly discussing the concepts, theoretical foundations, and domestic and foreign research reviews. The third part is the analysis of the current situation of the survey on the "Tourism Psychology" course and students’ metacognition level in vocational schools in Shandong Province. This study investigates three vocational schools in Shandong Province, obtains the teaching status of the "Tourism Psychology" course and the current situation of students’ metacognition level, and gradually analyzes it,in order to understand the problems in classroom teaching of the course and students’ metacognition level. The fourth part is an analysis of the appropriateness of applying metacognitive strategies to the mental health module of Tourism Psychology.Firstly, the typicality of the mental health module is analyzed.Next, the necessity and feasibility of applying metacognitive strategies to the health module of Tourism Psychology were analyzed. In terms of necessity, the relationship between the application of metacognitive strategies in teaching and teaching, teacher functions, and students’ comprehensive qualities was discussed. In terms of feasibility, the curriculum content, curriculum objectives, and learning interests were specifically explored, thus confirming that metacognitive strategies are very suitable for the mental health module of Tourism Psychology. The fifth part is the application design of metacognitive strategies in the mental health module of Tourism Psychology. The three major sub strategies of metacognitive strategies, namely "planning strategy","monitoring strategy",and "evaluation strategy",are applied to the teaching design of the course, including teaching goal selection, teaching goal design, teaching resource design, teaching method design, and specific teaching process design. The sixth part is the application and evaluation of teaching cases,as well as the conclusion of teaching experiments. Two parallel classes are used as experimental objects to test the effectiveness of the teaching design. The seventh part is the research summary and outlook, summarizing the entire study and proposing relevant suggestions and prospects for the application of metacognitive strategies in Tourism Psychology. The practical results of this study indicate that the application of metacognitive strategies in the mental health module of Tourism Psychology has the following effects: firstly, metacognitive strategies can improve the effectiveness of teaching. After a month of practical research,it was found that the experimental class students’ academic performance and learning ability have significantly improved, the classroom atmosphere is better, and students’ learning interest is higher.Secondly, metacognitive strategies can improve students’ autonomous learning abilities.Students use metacognitive strategies to better control their learning, clarify learning objectives, effectively utilize time, and effectively exercise their autonomous learning abilities.Thirdly, metacognitive strategies can improve students’ metacognitive and mental health levels.Through interviews after research,it was found that applying metacognitive strategies to teaching resulted in a certain improvement in students’ psychological level and maintained a good mental health state. This study provides a reference teaching design framework for the application of metacognitive strategies in the course of "Tourism Psychology" in terms of theoretical innovation; In terms of practical innovation, this study can provide more suitable teaching application strategies for the "Tourism Psychology" course in vocational schools, and innovate teaching methods for the "Tourism Psychology" course.
