| The General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the Guidelines on Doing a good job in after-school Services for primary and Middle School Students,which,while meeting the individual needs of students,solved the problem of parents failing to pick up their children on time and encouraged primary schools to carry out after-school services after 3:30 PM.As a livelihood project,after-school service is of great significance for promoting social development,realizing educational equity and reducing the growth gap of students after school.This study takes urban primary schools as the research object,adopts the method of literature research,questionnaire survey and interview,and adopts the theory of multiple governance and the theory of public goods to study the after-school services in urban primary schools.The study found that urban primary schools have problems such as insufficient supply of after-school service system,single after-school service content and form,and insufficient participation of after-school service subjects.The reasons leading to the problems of after-school services in urban primary schools lie in the imperfect top-level policy design,the inadequate after-school service management and the deviation of parents’ cognitive concepts.Learning from the experience of in-school after-school service in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Along the Jialing River Coast,improving the relevant system of after-school service,innovating the management measures of after-school service,and encouraging parents to participate in home-school co-education are the feasible ways to improve the after-school service in urban schools. |
