Science and technology museums contain rich educational resources,and the science popularization resources are one of the most important resources in the science and technology museums.Making full use of the science and technology museum resources plays an important role in the improvement of children’s scientific ability and the cultivation of scientific quality.By sorting out and analyzing relevant studies at home and abroad,comprehensively using questionnaire and interview methods,this study comprehensively discusses the current situation of parents using science and technology museum resources to conduct science education for children,so as to provide a direction for children’s family science education and family cooperative education.This study selected 511 parents as the investigation object,through the parents of the resources of popular science education questionnaire into the present situation of the parents of popular science education,using SPSS25.0 to obtain the data analysis,at the same time to15 parents and five science and technology museum staff interview into the status quo,the study final conclusion is as follows:1.In terms of parents’ science popularization,the level of science popularization is generally good.Meanwhile,it is found that the level of parents with higher education is higher than that of parents of children with other education,and the level of parents of remarried families is significantly lower than that of parents of other family types.2.In terms of preliminary preparation and activity form,most parents will make preparations before coming to the museum,and highly educated parents pay more attention to the experience preparation for their children before coming to the museum.Online online science education has become one of the main forms of activities in the epidemic era,and the effect of online science education is lower than that of offline science education.3.In the process of activities,parents choose to take their children with the science museum mainly during the holidays,and with the growth of age,the longer the children stay in the science museum,they prefer to participate in interactive science inquiry activities;In the science museum,the participatory interaction mode occupies a high proportion in the parent-child interaction of the children.4.In terms of evaluation and extension,some parents have no awareness of extension after taking their children home,and the extension effect of parents taking their children home is not ideal;there are the single science and technology museum activities and the low professional quality of science and technology museum staff.5.The main factors affecting parents to take their children to the science and technology museum include the quality of parents’ science education,the time and physical condition of parents and children,the hardware and software facilities of the museum,the public welfare nature of the science and technology museum,COVID-19,distance time,etc.According to the above conclusions,this research puts forward suggestions based on the three aspects of family,science and technology museum and policy,so as to make joint efforts for the improvement of children’s scientific quality and the development of children’s family science education and the collaborative education of family museum.
