Resources of science popularization are necessary for science popularization,which include manpower, material, financial, knowledge, information and institution,etc.They are important guarantee of science popularization. Resources of sciencepopularization of higher schools’ stadiums are characterized by fixed stadium.Theyare important media of science popularization with the characteristics of being rich insubject resources of science popularization, being filled with content resources ofscience popularization and being close to the place of scientific research, etc. Theyinclude science and technology museums, specimen, state key laboratorys and keyengineering centers. Beijing is full of these resources, because she is an importantcenter of research and education. Making full use of these resources by open up tosociety is important to public scientific literacy and social and cultural prosperityWhat this paper deals with are the functions and utility of the resources ofscience popularization of higher schools’ stadiums by way of science communication.Firstly, it analyses the conception, characteristics and functions of the resources ofscience popularization of higher schools’ stadiums. Then, it analyses the situation ofthe science popularization activities in the resources of science popularization ofhigher schools’ stadiums. Thirdly, it discusses the influencing factors of their utility.Finally, it gives some advices.So far, these resources have not been fully used, the main reason lies in being notstrong of the open initiative, resource management scattering, lacking of effectiveintegration, opening experience and adequate funding support, etc, owing to theinfluencing factors such as funds, time, full-time staffs, security projects andvolunteers. We could promote the following works: firstly, promoting the opening upof the resources of science popularization of higher schools’ stadiums by increase lawenforcement; secondly, integrating resources fully and improving the openingeffectiveness; thirdly, Combining science popularization and propaganda of higherschools; last but not least, making use of the contemporary propaganda tool likenetwork; finally,assessing the utility of the resources of science popularization of higher schools’ stadiums. The innovation of this paper are the classification system ofthe resources of science popularization and the evaluation indexes system on theutility of resources of Science Popularization of higher schools’stadiums. |
