Hurdle is a technical,complex movement of track and field events,the strength,speed,flexibility,coordination and other physical qualities have high requirements,the major sports colleges in the country are carrying out the hurdle course teaching.Hurdle technology includes jumping the first hurdle technology,hurdle step technology,hurdle running technology and finishing sprint line technology.Hurdle step technology is an important technical link of the whole hurdle project,and its technical quality will directly affect the effect of accelerated running between hurdles.However,good technique is built on the basis of good physical fitness.How to play well hurdle running technique requires good speed,sufficient strength,coordination,sensitivity and other aspects of physical quality,among which strength quality is the foundation.In teaching,how to improve students’ strength and quality in limited time and how to make students master the hurdle step technique is a difficult problem in the teaching practice of hurdle running.Functional strength training as a training method originated in the field of sports rehabilitation and has been verified by experiments,the original purpose is to improve the muscle strength and endurance of the injured joint as well as joint flexibility and stability.With the continuous maturity of sports training theory,functional strength training has been applied in the field of sports training,and achieved good results.At present,elastic belt training,Swiss ball training,soft ladder training and so on are more popular training methods.In view of this,this paper introduces functional strength training into hurdle events,explores its positive influence on hurdle technique and performance,and also provides some reference opinions and suggestions for the teaching and training of hurdle courses.Using expert interview,literature,experiment,video analysis and mathematical statistics,this paper takes the students of 2019 special class of track and field of Xi ’an Physical Education University as the experimental objects.On the basis of hurdle teaching and functional strength training,the students are divided into experimental group and control group to conduct teaching experiments respectively.The experimental group received functional strength training on the basis of routine teaching,while the control group received routine teaching.After the experiment,data analysis was conducted on the hurdle step technique,performance,functional movement screening and other test indicators of students to explore the impact of functional strength training on hurdle step technique and performance.The research results are as follows:(1)After 12 weeks of functional strength training,functional action screening test scores of the experimental group were improved to a certain extent,among which squat,straight lunge,shoulder flexibility,torso stability push-up,rotation stability movement pattern test scores had significant differences(P<0.05).(2)The test indexes of hurdle step technique in the experimental group were improved to varying degrees and tended to the ideal value.Compared with the control group,the nine technical indexes,including distance of starting span,Angle of swinging leg and knee,Angle of starting span pushing off,trunk forward Angle,maximum trunk forward Angle,hurdle distance,trunk Angle of landing moment,landing Angle and hurdle step length,were obviously better than the control group(P<0.05).(3)After the experiment,the results of 110 m flat running,110 m hurdles,flat hurdles and technical evaluation of the experimental group were obviously different from those before the experiment(P<0.05).Through the horizontal comparison of the above four indicators between the experimental group and the control group after the experiment,the results of the experimental group were obviously better than the control group.From this,it is concluded that:(1)Integrating functional strength training into hurdle running teaching can effectively improve students’ hurdle step technique and performance.(2)The integration of functional strength training in the teaching of hurdle running can enhance students’ comprehensive strength,so that students can maintain a reasonable forward tilt angle of the torso when attacking the hurdles,and speed up the speed of attacking the hurdles.(3)The integration of functional strength training into the teaching of hurdles can improve the coordination of the upper and lower limbs,help maintain the balance of the hurdle,and allow students to maintain a good maximum trunk forward angle on the hurdle.(4)The integration of stability strength training with one-foot support and torso stability training in hurdle running teaching helps students find the appropriate crossing angle when jumping the hurdle and maintain a good landing angle of the lower bar when landing on the ground.
