Velocity Based Training(VBT)is a new type of physical training method that uses external speed sensors to monitor action speed in real time, accurately regulate and formulate sports training load, and improve training efficiency through the strong correlation between speed and load and fatigue, which has the characteristics of accuracy,real-time and universality. Objective:The objective of this study was to analyze and explore the effect of 8 weeks of velocity based training(VBT)on the lower limb explosiveness of sprinters.Research Methods: In this study, the literature method, mathematical statistics method and experimental method were mainly used.Twenty-two sprinters were randomly divided into experimental(n=11)and control(n=11),with Velocity Based Training in the experimental group and conventional strength training in the control group. Before and after 8 weeks of training, the relevant test indicators reflecting the explosive power of the lower limbs(maximum weight of squat, vertical jump in place, running leg jump, standing long jump,30 m sprint,3D force measuring table CMJ,40 kg squat jumping speed,80 kg squat speed)were tested, and statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS25.0 statistical software.Results:(1)After 8 weeks of intervention training, the maximum weight of squats, running leg jumping height,30 m sprint,40 KG barbell squat jumping speed,80 KG barbell squat speed, and peak power, impulse and maximum force rate in CMJ were significantly improved(P<0.01),and there was a significant improvement in situ vertical jump and standing long jump(P<0.05).(2)The control group had a very significant improvement in the maximum weight of squats,30 meters sprint,40 KG barbell squat jumping speed,80 KG barbell squat speed, and peak power, impulse and maximum force rate in CMJ(P<0.01),and significantly improved in the running legs to jump and standing long jump(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in in-situ vertical jump and touch height(P>0.05).(3)In the horizontal comparison between the two groups after intervention, there was only a significant difference in the performance of 30 m sprint and 40 KG barbell squat jump speed(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in other indicators(P> 0.05).Conclusions:(1)Velocity based training is an effective training method to improve the explosiveness of the lower limbs of sprinters.(2)Velocity based training has a higher improvement than traditional strength training in squat maximum weight,in-situ vertical jump and height, running leg jumping height, standing long jump and 30-meter sprint, and velocity based training is a better training method in comparing the improvement effect between the two sets of 30-meter sprint.(3)Velocity based training has a higher improvement in peak power, impulse and maximum force rate in CMJ than traditional strength training.(4)Velocity based training has a higher improvement in 40 kg barbell squat jump speed and 80 kg barbell squat speed than traditional strength training, and velocity based training has a better improvement effect in 40 kg barbell squat jumping speed.
