In the context of the new era of material living standards greatly improved, the main contradictions in our society have changed, the people’s pursuit of a better life is more and more focused on the spiritual level, reading is one of the important ways to meet the people’s beautiful spiritual life, under the social advocacy of the whole people reading,it is necessary to cultivate children’s reading habits from an early age gradually become a social consensus, but due to unbalanced regional development, rural left-behind children generally face problems such as insufficient reading resources, low reading awareness, and insufficient reading ability, which restricts their reading habits. With the gradual establishment of township social work stations across the country,left-behind children as vulnerable groups have always been the key service targets of social work stations, and the cultivation of reading habits is a long process, and the advantages of social work stations rooted in the soil and stationed in villages make long-term intervention services possible,so township social work stations have their unique advantages and great room for development in cultivating the reading habits of left-behind children. This study is based on the service practice of "Double hundred" social work station in H Township in the cultivation of reading habits of left-behind children. On the basis of combing relevant literature,it collects data by means of questionnaire survey, interview and observation, and finds that the local left-behind children have low interest in reading, low reading frequency, lack of reading resources, insufficient support from peers and families, and weak reading ability. On the basis of comprehensive analysis of their influencing factors and reading needs, the social work station intervenes in group work and casework for local left-behind children. In the group work,by linking social project resources, creating a public welfare book house to optimize the reading environment of left-behind children, meet their reading needs, and use classroom teaching, watching documentaries and nurturing volunteers to enhance reading awareness and reading ability, and at the same time use behavioral contracts such as clock-in and sharing habit formation skills to strengthen reading behavior and help the formation of reading habits. In the later part of the activity, the group members will be developed into reading volunteers, hoping to encourage more local children to join the reading activities. In the casework intervention, the "Micro Wish" project links resources to meet the reading needs of service recipients, and enhances their reading awareness and reading ability by sending teachers to their homes, while providing peer support and family support through reading sharing sessions and helping to organize family reading days.Through the evaluation, both group work and case work have achieved certain service effects, which verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of social work intervention in the cultivation of reading habits of left-behind children under the mode of social work station.Based on practice, the research finally explores the feasible paths for the cultivation of left-behind children’s reading habits under the social work station model, such as creating a public reading space, adopting the "three togethers" model to provide reading companionship, cultivating local volunteers, and providing reading support through political and social collaboration.
