With the implementation and promotion of the "Long-term Education Reform andDevelopment Plan (2010-2020)"and "3-6years old children’s learning and developmentguidelines," various forms of art educational activities which enrich children’s artistic life inthe special and unique. As a new form of education in the arts, self-determination paintingplays an important role in fostering children’s emotional, improving children’s aesthetic taste,enhancing children’s art performance ability, and showing children’s personality style. Inrecent years, the research on children’s self-determination painting has a rapid growing, but itmostly biased the recommendations of children’s self-determination painting, while thefeatures of self-determination painting is a little, so this thesis is based on characteristicschildren’s self-determination painting and proposes some constructive suggestions.This thesis uses an experimental method, observation method, conversation method andthe method of painting analysis. Research processed as follows: First, the understanding ofchildren’s self-determination painting improved with the use of literature search, and on thisbasis the preschool classroom design of the middle class in a kindergarten is determined onthis basis. Besides the evaluation and analysis table of children’s self-determination painting isformed. Secondly, write down children’s typical performance in painting activity by observingthe teaching of self-determination painting in middle kindergarten with observation method.Thirdly, learn about the feeling of children in conversation method. Finally, using the methodof paintings analysis, analyze children’s painting according to evaluate children’sself-determination paintings and make a conclusion on the research and propose someeducational suggestions.The results show: First, the children can be trained to use the lines and the correct shape,and mostly use vertical-horizontal manner to combine lines and shapes of things together toconstitute the basic image. But it is lack of proportion with the rationality and the image of thestructure, and there is a certain difficulty to distinguish on the positive side of the image;Second, in terms of composition, the children mostly use a2-3multi-image arrangement withparallel composition, and most of the children can arrange the images in a prominent position,but the overall layout of the screen is still not perfect. Third, in terms of color, children paintaccording to their preferences and begin to consider the inherent color of things to choosecolors, and start to color a small area of painting, but not coloring uniformly. In addition, thebehavior of children in painting is also analyzed in this thesis. At last, I’ll give some adviceabout children’s self-determination painting.
