Burnout,as an "unrelieved manifestation of stress," has become a common phenomenon or illness in the workplace.People in human services industries are relatively more likely to experience burnout,such as teachers,health care workers,civil servants,etc.Because of the high emotional engagement,high-pressure environment,and the fact that individual effort is not proportional to giving back,burnout is more common and prominent in the human services industry.For the social work profession whose purpose is to "help others help themselves",social workers naturally have this crux of the problem.In recent years,the cultivation and development of social work talent team has received more and more attention from the government,but the total number of talents in the social work industry is still in short supply,there is a phenomenon of brain drain,and the reasons behind it are delved in,and burnout is the key to this phenomenon.Burnout is a hot topic in all walks of life,and many scholars have conducted research on it,but there are few researchers compared to the social work profession that is also engaged in human services.This paper adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,and conducts a questionnaire survey of 185 social workers in Hangzhou through random sampling and interviews with 12 social workers,hoping to achieve the following research objectives:(1)to explore the current situation of burnout among social workers in Hangzhou;(2)Explore the specific manifestations and causes of burnout in social workers,and analyze them in detail.The findings of this paper are:(1)the existence of burnout among social workers in Hangzhou and the level of burnout is at a moderate level;(2)Under different demographic characteristics,burnout showed significant differences in age,marital status,years of work and professional background,and did not have significant differences in gender,education,monthly income and job title.According to the research results,this paper puts the problem of burnout of social workers in their living environment in combination with interviews,classifies the causes of burnout into four levels: individual,work,organization and society,and analyzes it from point to point,and finally puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of individuals,organizations and governments.It is hoped that the research in this paper can raise the attention and attention of all sectors of society to social work burnout. |
