Research On Alleviating Parenting Stress By Seafarer’s Wives From The Perspective Of Social Support Theory

Building a maritime power requires high-quality seafarers,who often face conflicts between work and family due to the unique nature of their profession.Especially in families with children,seafarers work most of the year on the ship,and the child care is almost solely undertaken by the seafarer’s wives.Parenting work is a difficult problem,which will be affected by the personal characteristics of the seafarer’s wives,the overall parenting environment and individual differences of infants and young children.In addition,the seafarer’s wives lacks the parenting support from the sailor’s husband for a long time,which will cause great parenting pressure.However,at present,the research on parenting stress in China is mainly focused on the theoretical level,education and medical fields,and the research in the field of social work is very weak.At first,based on this background,this study looked at and analyzed the existing literature about parenting stress,on the basis of using the method of questionnaire investigation,interview and observation to infants and young children had 0 to 6 years old.we must parenting stress problems are studied,using case work method,to carry out the corresponding case practice activities,to help the individual.we must reduce the pressure on parenting,Explore the adaptability of social work to relieve the pressure of child-rearing of seafarer’s wives,and put forward suggestions to relieve the pressure of child-rearing combined with the current social child-rearing environment.This study finally draws the conclusion that the application of social work theory and methods to intervene in relieving the parenting pressure of seafarer’s wives has certain adaptability,and draws the following experience: first,the importance of establishing trust relationship;Second,social workers adjust their roles in time;Third,the applicability of professional theory.At the same time,in view of the special group of seafarer’s wives and the current situation of parenting pressure of young mothers in China,suggestions are put forward from the perspective of society to alleviate parenting pressure,including: The society should build a support network for parenting,guide various departments to participate in the construction of parenting support and comply with the development trend of The Times,providing more high-quality information support,hoping to provide reference for social work to intervene in the construction of parenting support in the future.
