| With the rapid development of China’s economy,the transportation industry has also developed,and in the transportation industry,road transport occupies an important position.As the main force of road transportation,truck drivers,due to the special nature of their work,have uncertain time to return home,and two-thirds of the year is spent working outside.As a result,their wives at home,also known as the left-behind wives of truckers,need to bear the heavy burden of home life and coordinate household affairs.For the left-behind wives of truckers,they not only need to complete tasks at work every day,but also need to complete household chores and take care of the elderly and children at home after work.These heavy burdens on the wives of truck drivers can easily lead to psychological stress problems.The psychological stress issue of the wife of a truck driver not only affects the wife herself,but also affects the truck driver who is driving outside.Therefore,the psychological stress issue of the left-behind wives of truckers should receive necessary attention.Social work,as a form of ’help them help themselves’ activity,can play a positive role in alleviating psychological stress.Therefore,this study starts from the perspective of social work,guided by social support theory and empowerment theory,and uses professional case work methods to intervene in the psychological stress problems of the left-behind wives of truckers in G city.Based on the survey of the wives of truck drivers in G City’s Zhongka Club,this study ultimately selected the truck driver’s wife,‘Hong Jie’,who had the highest level of psychological stress,as the service object.Through methods such as questionnaire surveys and interviewing methods,problem diagnosis and needs assessment were conducted on the case owner,clarifying their needs for correctly managing emotions,reducing life stress,alleviating anxiety,and building good interpersonal relationships.Based on this,intervention goals and plans were formulated,and targeted interventions were carried out in four stages,starting with the case owner and their family.In the first stage,through face-to-face communication and communication with the case owner,teaching the case owner methods to vent negative emotions and improving their emotional control ability;The second stage is for the case owner to link volunteer resources to help them share the work of taking care of the elderly and household cleaning,reducing the life pressure of the case owner;In the third stage,a family meeting is held to increase positive communication between the case owner and her husband and alleviate the case owner’s anxiety;The fourth stage is to build a social support network for the case owner,reducing their sense of helplessness.Through this case intervention,the case owner was relieved of the psychological pressure and was able to face life more positively and optimistically. |
