This study explored the current situation of life-experiential parent-child activities in Kindergarten H.The study used three rounds of action to improve life-experiential parent-child activities,and used thematic drawing and child interviews to examine the life experiences of 24 randomly selected older children in Kindergarten H during parent-child activities.The action research on life-experiential parent-child activities had gone through three stages.The first stage was to solve the problem of lack of guidance and communication of life experiences,and the parent-child activity "Fire Investigation" was carried out with setting up questions to guide children’s experiences and improving the sharing and communication.The second stage was to solve the problems of fixed and limited experience,lack of parent-child interaction and hands-on experience.The parent-child activity "Animal’s Home" was launched to promote children’s life experience with open-ended questions and activities,and to improve the quality of parent-child interaction by sharing parental cases with the Family Council.In the third stage,to address the lack of personal and active experiences,parents’ fixed roles and poor life education,the parent-child activity "Interesting Water" was launched in the context of the epidemic,encouraging children to plan activities on their own,and pushing activity materials online to guide parents to carry out life education in parent-child activities.Through practice,this study found that children have experiences of health,safety,growth and care in life-experiential parent-child activities,and that they have a need for hands-on,creative experiences.With reference to the children’s life experiences,this study had identified the following strategies for life-experiential parent-child activities.Firstly,encourage children to design "plans" to initiate activities on their own.Secondly,use "open-ended questions" to guide children’s life experiences.Thirdly,teachers continue to enrich the "resource base" to provide guidance on life education in parentchild activities.Fourthly,use "student-student interaction" and "evaluation" to enhance children’s life experiences.On this basis,this study has refined the model of lifeexperiential parent-child activities in Kindergarten H from the perspectives of ’before’,’during’ and ’after’ activities.Besides,the practical application of these strategies was discussed as well.The study suggested that teachers should choose life-like,realistic and childlike materials when conducting life-experiential parent-child activities,pay attention to the impact of children’s gained experiences on life experiences,examine children’s life-experience in terms of cognitive,emotional and behavioral tendencies,and provide parents with multiple forms of layered guidance. |
