Junior high school is the key period of physical development,and it is also a sensitive period for the development of speed,endurance and strength quality.It is founded that most of the PE classes in junior high school are examination-oriented and boring,whose practice density and intensity can not meet the corresponding requirements.Although some physical training is included,it is mainly based on running,which is so single and boring that most students take low interest in it,some even resist it.At present,Tabata is a popular training method,taking the mode of action combination training with 20-second practice and 10-second interval.It takes 4minutes and includes 8 different actions.This method is time-saving,efficient,flexible,rhythmic and easy-to-learn,which can bring a sense of pleasure to the practitioner.There is little research on Tabata training in middle school,therefore,this study aims to explore the impact of Tabata training on the physical quality of male students in grade 7 in order to further clarify the advantages of Tabata training and enrich the physical training methods of junior high school physical education.This study mainly used the literature method,observation method,experimental method,interview method and mathematical statistics method.The experimental subjects were 50 male students in grade 7 of Suchou Sucheng Foreign Language School who were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.During the 8-week intervention period,the experimental group did the Tabata training,while the control group did the traditional physical training in PE class,all the other variables are controlled same.Before and after the experiment,the physical quality indexes were tested,including sitting forward flexion,50 m,1000m,standing long jump,1-minute sit ups,1-minute push ups,sensitivity T test and balance test.IBM SPSS statistics 26.0 independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test were used to analyze the physical quality indexes of two groups.In addition,some students were interviewed after the experiment.Conclusions:(1)After the experiment,there are very significant differences in the experimental group in 50 m,1000m,standing long jump,push-up and sensitivity T test,indicating that the 8-week Tabata training has a significant effect on improving the speed,endurance and strength quality of male students in grade 7.(2)After the experiment,there are significant differences in the control group in 50 m,1000m,standing long jump and sit-ups,indicating that 8-week traditional physical training has a certain effect on improving the speed quality of male students in grade 7,and has a very significant effect on improving cardiopulmonary endurance and strength quality.(3)After the experiment,all the physical fitness indicators of the control group are improved to varying degrees,but the improvement degree is not as large as that of experimental group,indicating that the 8-week Tabata training has a more significant effect on the physical fitness of male students in grade 7.(4)The interview shows that compared with the traditional physical training,the students show higher enthusiasm for the Tabata training.
