With the continuous improvement of China’s economic development level and quality of life, the continuous decline of the physical health of middle school students has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life.Learning pressure, sedentary behavior, and low activity are the main influencing factors that endanger students’ physical and mental health growth and physical decline. Therefore,in response to the problem of the decline in the physical fitness of middle school students, the sports reform plan of the middle school entrance examination has been successively launched throughout the country, gradually increasing the proportion of physical education scores in the middle school entrance examination, causing students, parents and schools to attach great importance to physical fitness. As a high-intensity interval training mode,Tabata training method has strong interest and pertinence, which can increase the heart rate of athletes in a short time, and can also arrange targeted training content according to the body parts trained according to the needs to achieve training effects, thereby improving students’ physical fitness and physical health.Based on this, this study further explores the influence of Tabata training method on the physical education quality items of middle school students by introducing the Tabata training method into the physical education classroom of the second junior high school. In this study, the literature method, expert interview method, experimental method and mathematical statistics method were used to carry out teaching experimental research.By selecting 80 students in the second ordinary class of junior high school as experimental subjects, randomly divided into experimental group and control group,respectively,10 weeks of traditional teaching training and Tabata training were carried out,and test indicators such as50 m running, standing long jump and one-minute skipping rope were selected to conduct preexperimental and post-experimental tests of students’ quality project performance, and independent sample t-test and paired-sample t-test were used to statistically analyze each index. The results showed that:(1)There was no significant difference in BMI values between the control group and the Tabata training group before and after the experiment(p>0.05).(2)In the 50 m run, standing long jump, women’s 800m/men’s 1000 m events, there was no significant difference in the control group’s pre-and post-experimental results(p>0.05),and the Tabata training group had very significant differences before and after the experiment(p<0.01).(3)In the one-minute skipping rope and front throwing solid ball events, there were significant differences between the pre-and post-experimental results of the traditional training group and the Tabata training group(p<0.01).(4)Compared with the control group, the Tabata training group had significant differences in the post-test results of 50-meter running, standing long jump, women’s 800m/men’s 1000 m,and one-minute rope skipping(p<0.05).(5)In the BMI index and the front throw of solid balls, there was no significant difference between the control group and the Tabata training group in the post-test results(p>0.05).Through the analysis and summary of the research results, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Tabata training method can improve the speed quality and explosive quality of junior high school students, which is mainly manifested in the enhancement of students’ anaerobic energy supply ability.Tabata training leads to selective hypertrophy of muscle fibers while improving the ability to recruit more high-order motor units.(2)The Tabata training method has a significant effect on the improvement of the sensitive quality of junior high school students, which can shorten the reaction time and enhance the stability of the trunk of the upper and lower limb muscles during coordinated actions by improving the problems of upper and lower limb incoordination, insufficient muscle strength of the lower limbs,etc.(3)Tabata training method can improve the cardiopulmonary function and muscular endurance of junior high school students, and then improve the aerobic energy supply ability of students, which is mainly reflected in the physiological indicators of maximum oxygen uptake and lactate threshold.(4)Compared with traditional training,Tabata training method did not show significant differences in upper limb strength and BMI in the second year of junior high school.
