“Practical reading and communication" is a new concept in the Compulsory Education Language Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition).It is based on life,with practical activities as the main line,learning themes as the guide,and learning tasks as the carrier,integrating learning content,real situations and useful resources to drive students’ learning.This means that teaching that used to start from the text,from the teacher and from knowledge has to be changed to start from life,from students and from tasks.Project-based learning,which is widely used in Europe and the US,is an emerging teaching model that focuses on creating authentic contexts,focusing on project tasks and advocating teamwork.As a whole,project-based learning is highly relevant to the "practical reading and communication" learning task group in junior high school,and can change the current problems in teaching this learning task group,facilitating teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.This paper therefore combines the "practical reading and communication"learning task group and project-based learning,and draws on the concepts,ideas and methods of project-based learning to conduct research on teaching and learning.This article explores and researches the teaching of the "practical reading and communication" learning task group in junior high school Chinese based on project-based learning,using literature research method,questionnaire survey method and interview method.The study then analyses the feasibility of applying project-based learning to the "practical reading and communication" learning task group in junior high school.The analysis reveals that there are many points of convergence between them,and it is highly feasible to apply project-based learning to the teaching of this learning task group.Then,from a practical perspective,a survey was conducted on the current situation of teaching the "practical reading and communication" learning task group in middle school B in Nanning,from the perspectives of both teachers and students to understand the current teaching situation of the "practical reading and communication" learning task group and the application of project-based learning.The survey found that there are problems in the teaching of this learning task group,such as target positioning is not prominent,insufficient context creation,inadequate learning support,single activity design and insufficient scientific evaluation.Finally,based on the above theoretical analysis and existing practical problems,drawing on the ideas and methods of project-based learning,corresponding teaching strategies are proposed: firstly,clarify the project theme based on curriculum standards,textbook content,and students’ learning situation,and unify teaching objectives;The second is to create real and practical problem situations,life situations,and experiential situations to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for participating in project-based learning;Thirdly,when designing project activities,grasp the practical,situational,and authentic characteristics of "practical reading and communication" in junior high school Chinese,and demonstrate the practical nature of project activities;Fourthly,during the project implementation process,we provide learning support to students through three channels:integrating learning resources,forming learning groups,and providing project tools to promote their deep learning;The fifth is to develop evaluation criteria oriented towards target content,with students as the main body to choose multiple evaluation methods,and pay attention to the entire project implementation process,selecting corresponding evaluation methods and tools.The study found that project-based learning,as a new approach to learning by doing,can provide teachers with new ideas and inspiration for teaching the "practical reading and communication" learning task group in junior high school Chinese.It can also guide students to construct knowledge and improve their ability to integrate information and use language in practical activities to enhance their core language literacy.However,due to the long duration of the project,the large span of knowledge and the difficulty of implementation,it requires a high level of professionalism on the part of teachers and the support and cooperation of schools,parents and students. |
